Why Waffle House? Years ago we drove to Florida without stopping and after passing 47 Waffle Houses we decided they had to be good. I thought they would have 40 waffle options. No, they had "waffle" on the menu and it was similar to an Eggo. Worst breakfast I can ever remember.

Went to a North Carolina WH around 3:30 in the morning

It was like a goddam horror show. The food flat out sucked and I don't know how I didn't get rolled in the parking lot. Crowd was rougher than a river town mobile home strip club.

Maybe it's good for the crowd that judges a place by the amount of food and not the actual taste

Agree. We tried one in South Carolina a few years ago and I was pretty unimpressed. Overall the food was meh, and they didn't serve chicken and waffles, which I thought they were famous for.

Hardee's if I'm doing fast food. IHOP if I'm going to sit down.

I've never had Waffle House, is it a good value, regular price, or overpriced?

3 or 4 times a week I will encounter a 4 block traffic jam that ends up being an In&Out Burger drive through line. The food is just ok but it's somewhat fresh and it costs less than McD's. I suspect the fact that it's the cheapest meal in the state of CA is part of the success.

No Denny's
No Peace.

And for SoCal it's Norm's all day, every day

When I look at the prices on Denny's menu I'm positive it's going to be horrible, then I'm surprised it's not too bad.

You could get that giant breakfast and feed a few people for 7 or 8 bucks.

It's not expensive at all, decent value if you're looking for quantity vs. dollars spent. But the waffles themselves were ok and the sausage was overcooked. And again, I went in thinking chicken and waffles and it wasn't on the menu, which I thought was weird.

I bet that's it, cheap post drinking food.

I somehow thought the same thing that it was chicken and waffles.

I live not far from famous Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles and always want to try but wife is gluten free and I've never tried it, need to get the guys to go.
