Not exactly sure.
My sibling as 5th and 6th grade boys. They say the f word, play online video games and swear at those people, and watch naughty youtube videos. My sibling says because they're academically smart it doesn't matter. I don't want my young kids around it and my sibling wonders why I don't bring my kids over.

What do I say without embarrassing my sibling it making me seem like a crumudgeon.
Tell them that their kids watch porn and swear like a drunken sailor and you don’t want your kids doing that.

I can't answer your main question, but have to comment about how dangerous of an attitude this is.

Replace "academically smart" with anything else and it's still a problem.
Additionally, replace the swearing with anything else, whether it's more or less deplorable, and it's still teaching a dangerous lesson.

Be honest, it is your brother or sister.

I still don't swear in front of my parents, always feel bad when I let one fly by mistake. I understand some people are closer with their folks I guess but to me it feels like crossing a line.

I think you're gonna be hard pressed to keep a lid on it nowdays, attitudes about it have definitely changed with the new generation.

I actually heard way more swearing from my parents, their friends, and family when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. I feel like a lot of it was derived from the military.

My dad swore like a sailor around me. I swore all the time as a little kid, although I knew better than to do it around adults or my dad would beat my ass. I hardly ever swear around my kids, parents, or other adults I don't know very well. I've never heard my kids swear. Not sure where I'm going with all this other than to share my history of swearing. In conclusion, I'll finish with one of my favorite lines from a movie, because it reminds me of my old man:

In the heat of battle my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that, as far as we know, still hangs in space over lake Michigan to this day.
