I'm assuming bolton had a bunch of chances before this was voted on assuming the voting thing was true. I feel like you'd have to be a pretty legendarily bad teammate to be the first in my memory to be voted off the island.

I've wondered how much the players were involved with someone like Jacob Park's leaving.

I'd at least bet there was some eye rolling and 'there he goes' when he walked up to that Texas game all decked out.

Why did you have to bring that up, I had almost forgotten about that. I knew we were screwed the second I saw him in that getup. Good riddance to that guy.

He's a talented scorer and seemed to give a good effort but he's one of the worst off-the-ball defenders I've ever seen.
Decent driving to the basket and his pull-up from 15 feet was ok, but his outside shot not great! His shooting technique from deep was not good!

At some point, you are who your record says you are. Four different hs teams...says something about who you are, especially when combined with at least three different college teams.
You're still speculating on 'why' he went to 4 high schools. Does anyone here know why he went to 4 different high schools? Were those moves his to make?

It would be in the vault of cringeworthy never to be spoken about moments but the fact remains ISU has largely been in a better place since that debacle so maybe it needed to happen and it can be funny.

I won't post it again but Texas's version of WRNL did a great write up about it including gifs of JP finding the camera a couple of times.

Again, you clearly know nothing. But continue to “dumb” my factual posts
What are you, some 14 year-old girl? You and others posting speculation about a young man on a message board, pretending to have "inside information" to prop yourselves up on here, is pathetic. There are two coaches held over from the previous staff- do you really think a HC is going to value the opinions of 17 and 18 year-old kids over theirs? How do you think this voting takes place? A team meeting is held and everyone is told to write down one name of a player they'd like to see be forced out? The whole team is given individual ballots for every other player with "Yes" or "No" selections? Grow up.

Probably just asked all the players in individual interviews. From Rasir’s tweets it looks like he knows what went down and to his credit is handling it like a man.

You do realize that “inside information” isn’t hard to obtain if you know people in the program, right? It’s not as hush hush as you think it is..

Or it should be. Although not really sure how some of the educational and medical privacy laws apply to student athletes

So we’re paying coaches millions of dollars but 17 and 18 year-olds are making the personnel decisions. Okay, got it.

I actually don’t care if it is “inside information” or not, if it’s true or not. How would you feel if you were the player involved? Maybe Bolton hated losing and didn’t handle it perfectly. Maybe he called players out in private, who knows. But if TJ needs opinions from freshmen and sophomores on who to have on his team, and then leaks information to support running a player off, I don’t have much confidence in him having success here.

“Leadership/chemistry/culture problem” defines the Steve Prohm era. He’s a feckless guy who never had control of the team or the locker room in 6 years, starting with Jameel McKay in year one. I think Prohm tried way too hard to be liked and as a result never commanded respect. If Jeremy is right I think it’s a bigger indictment of Prohm than it is of Bolton.
You could see this starting year three.

Something you people need to understand. A kid's stat line does not make him a team player. Does not make him a good kid. Does not make him an important piece of the puzzle. I don't know anything about Bolton but his ability to score the basketball doesn't trump any discord he might have sown. Very few people know what is going on in the locker room and those who do are smart enough to NOT divulge it or they won't know any more either. There are always things going on inside sports programs that fans are never privy to and shouldn't be. Were talking about a bunch of kids and their drama. When you look at a box score or season stats and say "there has to be room for this guy" based on the stats then you just don't get it. That kind of thinking is why we are where we are. If enough of these kids said to the coaches in individual meetings that Bolton is a problem then he was probably asked to leave for that reason. Did they "vote" him off? Not directly but right now the main thing is to come together as a team and no player from a 2-22 team is valuable enough to upset that.

It’s not the dark ages. Coaches have to listen to their players in this day and age or they will just leave.
