Anyone have a treadmill they really like? And why?

I want to buy one. I'd like to stay in the $700-$1000 range. Preferrably around $800 but I'd spend more if it was "worth" it.

I know I definitley want:
-at least a 2.25 chp motor with a lifetime warranty
-at least 20 inches wide
-at least 55 inches long
-10 mph capability.

Beyond that, I don't really care. I'm not really into the bells and whistles. I just want it to work and be reliable.

You are gonna need one a lot faster than that if you plan on keeping any aircraft on the ground!

My wife had a bonus about a year and a half ago and was adimat that she should be able to spend it on a good treadmill at Sears. Anyways, we got one - even when I stated that it wouldn't get used - that cost around $800 (on sale from $1,200 or something like that). Needless to say, it has about a mile on it:skeptical:

Treadmill Best Buy Awards

I bought a Pacemaster from 2nd Wind a few years ago and they cut me a deal. I paid double of what your budget is but all the ones that were cheaper seemed flimsy and I'm what they call a Clydesdale.

You set yourself up for a fat joke right there. I won't go there but someone is going to go there.

Like Jeremy pointed out, don't count out a used treadmill since a lot of people rarely use them. Also keep in mind that even if you have a lifetime on the motor they still will charge you fee to come out to your house. I had a bad motherboard on mine after 3 years and they didn't charge anything for the part but they did charge $150 to come out and swap it out.

I've been to 2nd wind. They are beyond my price range.

Also, I go 160 lbs soaking wet so I don't need anything real industrial.

Pretty specific. Are you 20 inches wide and 55 inches long?

Haha, no.

Those are typical dimensions. I've tried an 18 inch width before and it didn't work so well. Also, I'm 6'2" and I have a long stride so the 55" belt is a minimum requirement. I think there are 60" belts available.

Save your money and run outside. Personally, I love running at night when it's cold outside. Plus, the snow and ice make it more adventurous!

I can't stand running in the cold. I hate that burning feeling in my lungs. I'll run in 90 degrees and humid but not the cold.
