As suggested in another thread, here's a thread keeping an eye on Ashley Joens' attempt to break ISU records.

I've projected her career numbers after an additional bonus season if she decides to take it (assuming 32 games). Projections for the potential bonus year use her 2021-22 season averages.

Updated 3/28/2022

She is definitely going to put herself up there in the company of the all-time program greats if she stays healthy and productive. Welle and Carleton when you look at all the records are the 2 IMO who have stood out as possibly the best 2 players to have ever played in the program and Joens is on pace to put herself into that top 3 or 5 discussion when it is all said and done.

Amazing how many of those top 10 all-time record holders are under Fennelly’s watch.
I don't think most people realize just how dismal the WBB program at ISU was before Bill got here. It was pre-Snyder KSU FB bad.

The coach before Bill, Theresa Becker couldn't handle it after a few years so she quit to go back to Nebraska and serve as an assistant.

That, and he's been the coach for over half of the program's existence.

The first 9 years of the program was basically just starting from scratch. There was not even conference play, just a small conference tournament that started in year four. The next 13 prior to Fennelly had Big 8 with actual conference play. He's coached 2/3's of the games since I'd call the program "real".

She did hand off a team with some decent talent even though she had not won with them. Hand, Gunderson, Grim and Olsen.

I remember watching a few games back in in the 81-85 timeframe...about 100 of us...maybe 200 on a good day when we would play someone decent. Always sat in row 3 opposite the team benches...just about on the center line. Unfortunately, it was usually good study time...

Yeah, to say that attendance struggled would be an understatement. They would count everyone in the building: fans, players, coaches, managers, officials, scoring table personnel, ushers, tech staff, media, concession stand employees and custodians - and then add in a chunk of phantom people for good measure. The count after all of those gymnastics was still in hundreds even on a good day.

Some of those records are going to be tough on a games played issue. Games per year varies with deep runs into conference and NCAA tournament and non-con schedule. In 2000-2001 Angie played in 33 games.

I went with 32 for my projections because, barring games cancelations, the team is usually guaranteed 30 games, 31 with a winning record. The team played 29 last season despite tournaments being canceled, and 35 games the year before.

Ashley currently has 1,418 career points. Under normal circumstances, she will enter the 1,500-point club in the middle of February.

I've updated with current stats. She's now cracked the top 10 in FT% and FTA. She was already top 10 in FTM, scoring average, and rebounding average.

For anyone who didn't notice, Ashley Joens is already #1 in career PPG for ISU. The old leader was Bridget with 17.274 ppg. Prior to the Oklahoma game, Ashley was at 17.169, and that 32-point outburst bumped her up to 17.359. She passed Bridget the moment she scored her 26th point in that game -- by my calculations, that was her layup at 4:30 left in Q3.
