I hope this team takes the ball inside because they don't have guys inside to be scared of. Whether it is throwing it down low to one of the bigs or driving to the rim. They need to do a lot of that. Need to have some defensive intensity from the start as well.

Hopefully as Foster rounds back in to shape he gets more minutes. because it wasn’t a coincidence that we were thrashed with him not playing the first half and won the second half by 20 with him getting 11 minutes. Just his presence and threat alone is helpful on both ends. Hope he gets 20 minutes tonight. The difference with him in the short corner between Solo or Conditt just opens everything up more for the whole team.

Yeah, hoping he can stay healthy from now on and continue to progress so he can see more playing time. I think he will eventually take Conditt's minutes away.

If they don’t have threatening bigs, I’d like to see more run through Solo to get his confidence back up.

Agree on letting XF get some more time

I think Soli is at his best just below the free throw line from an offensive and offensive rebounding standpoint. When he gets stuck down low he can’t be as explosive. We really really really need a stretch 4 or Big 3 that can pass out of that high post area (George’s, THT both filled that role in the past). Thats one thing that has pissed me off about Prohms recruiting none of his bigs are ever good passers.

If it's a close game I can't see Foster getting much run. Freshmen bigs have the steepest learning curves because they're going from playing against teams that have no one as big as them to playing teams where almost everyone has someone as big, and they have to learn that their size alone won't help them. Foster has a ton of talent but fans will need to be patient with him.

Im patient but if anything the defense absolutely has to sag on him just for the lob/over the top threat. Which in turn creates driving lanes and backs the D off the 3 point line just that slight bit to open things up for slightly better looks.

Does anyone know if SDSU are a zone or man team? This game will look a lot different if they come out in man vs zone like PB did.

I thought some of the refs would be better this year without fans for distraction, but yesterday I saw some ridiculous T's given out in a couple of the games. Hopefully, they have some decent refs tonight.

Imo this a good a year to go with the 'learn by doing' approach and maybe that's what needs to happen for this group. I didn't watch Sunday but I'll try to tune in tonight.

I'm not sure what you watched. I saw a big that was often out of position on defense and airballed a three. Yeah, he had two dunks on nice feeds, but he wasn't scaring anyone. He has a loooooong way to go.

Agree. But, what's nice is that Foster recognizes he has a long way to go. He's been pretty open about not expecting a ton of playing time this year, especially early. He doesn't seem to have the attitude of "I was a big time recruit, I should be starting". That's nice to see.

I thought we looked smoothest when Johnson was running the point, and I think Bolton is much better off the ball. I hope Johnson claims PG for us moving forward.

Anyone think this combo could work? Too small?

Johnson
Bolton
Harris
JCL
Solo/Conditt

Tre (when healthy) gets good minutes, as does Darlinstone. Based on a one game sample, I could live with this.

How big is JCL? I'm not good a gauging that on TV with the angle the broadcast was at.
