I think some talent on this team, CSP needs to find a good combination and go with it , Dubar will be a force

The talent is there to surprise some teams this year if they're all firing. They have a brutal schedule to contend with for a team that will need some development.

Plus with little or no fans in Hilton, it’s going to be tough to pull off the hone wins we’re used to. It’s going to be a challenging year even though this team is likely better than last years team.

You're talking to a guy who got a thread shut down for light misogyny this morning. Don't sweat it.

The truth is we're likely in for consecutive down years which hasn't happened since GMac low era.

Part of it is because of the early nba departures.

Oh that's right.... that was him. Seems about right. Puts down women, but he's better than everyone else. No sweat.

I didn't get to watch the game today, but at least the 2nd half sounds like if we put together a full 40 mins we could surprise some people and at least be exciting to watch and possibly get on the bubble.

I'll still be watching every game I can, even if it's not a great season. It's always enjoyable to watch ISU in any sport IMO.

We have some pieces to work with and develop an identity.

Young could score plenty of points and hand out assists if they would at least try and throw the ball down low.

If you are going to play small ball with 6'5" to 6'7"guys they better learn how to rebound!

I think the freshmen have some potential!

Many of the turnovers today were from lazy passes, the same problem we had last year.

It could have been worse!

Didn’t see a minute of the game- don’t have ESPN3 but observations from box score:
Positives- 32 buckets on 21 assists- anything 50% or higher is great, 9-22 on 3’s from top three 3 pt. shooters that played- will take 40% from them every night out, outscored them by 20 in second half- do that in the first half and you win by a bunch, Bolton and Dubar combined for 15 rebounds- important since none of the bigs are “glass cleaners”. Negatives- they made 3 more FT’s than we attempted- that has to change, got outrebounded 37-30- has to change.
First half was expected- they had showed 2-3 zone and M/M defense for 2 games- came out in 1-3-1 today- if you haven’t prepared for it with a bunch of new pieces playing together for the first time makes it tougher. None of this is an excuse, none of it says ISU is going to Elite 8 or only winning 7 games either. A lot of positives to build on for a team that hopefully grows and COMPETES for the entire season.
Kentucky is down 14 to Richmond in Lexington with :20 to play- it happens to lots of people.

He is a better 4 than 5. Maybe Foster can develop enough this year that he can take the 5 at times to get Young to the 4?

Someone has to be able to guard a stretch 4 on the perimeter for that to work. Unless it's like an old Baylor group of bigs. Maybe XF will get there but he looks like he's got a ways to go on D, especially having missed some time.

Don't say that.... you're a terrible Cyclone fan.... and person too! Just kidding of course..... I'm just trying to fit in around here.
That post had some actual analysis on it and things for Foster to work on. The terrible Cyclone posts say everyone sucks, no excuse for this performance, and are just generally negative ****** posts

I’ve always felt Solo’s best use is the 6th man at the 5. Come in and take advantage of the other team’s 2nd string or tired 5 man. He has always scored in quick spurts and can get into the flow quickly.

that being said, Conditt or Foster would have to play well enough to start.
Prohm doesn’t value the 5 like other coaches. Doesn’t really matter who plays there or when. The offense has always been guard/perimeter oriented. If he cared about the position you’d see some sort of development or emphasis.

We haven’t practiced much 5 on 5 at all...APB had 2 games under their belt..APB hit some very tough contested shots..

Good: T Harris, JCL and Bolton from 3...last years team couldn’t hit a three until like game 4... literally.

Good: Dubar is gong to be a stud..If he develops a 3 pt shot look out.

Bad: Solo and Conditt..Solo looked like he didn’t have his legs at all..Conditt intensity looks same which isn’t good.

I thought all 4 frosh looked the part..Jaden can shoot and looks skilled..Dudley needs to be a player who is a Dustin Hogue player...Cutting to bucket and rebounding..period.

As poor as we played in first 10 minutes (not surprising) We still kept APB to fewer pts than #7 Wisc did.. It’s never as bad as it seems or as good as it seems.

Did Walker do much the 2nd half? I knew he scored 5 straight in the 1st half, but hadn't heard his name much on the radio in the 2nd half.

I'm excited about him. Prohm probably talked him up the most of anyone at media day.
