Piggybacking the question. For those who say it won’t happen do you also believe Iowa State will cancel it’s football season? Because 50,000 people at Jack Trice are more tightly packed than 100,000 at the state fair
Football can happen without fans (unfortunately).

My guess is it happens with MANY modifications, such as no concerts, no rides, limited food, etc.
Then unless your directly involved, why would you go? It’s gonna lose a crap ton of money regardless.

It won't be Iowa States decision. Maybe some schools below power 5 might cancel unilaterally but otherwise they will all play or they all wont.

Instead of a weight guessing guy, They could set up a temp guessing guy by the entrance. Imagine the possibilities!

I think that would be the point (limiting people, not money).

So hard to tell. What if this virus just dies out? After all it has happened before, and the Iowa State Fair is a long ways off. We will know a lot more about the virus by June 1st. They may even have an effective treatment by August. Two months ago no one was even thinking about this.

The county fairs will be a bit of a precursor also. They start in about a month.

With the number of vendors involved it would seem like the call would need to happen in May or June to allow vendors the opportunity to go elsewhere. I have heard on the radio of concerts being moved from May to September but that's probably about a month after the fair.

I don't think the fair happens, and I don't think college football happens without modifications to schedule or a no fans approach.

I know Wapello County has already cancelled their fair. Anyone know of any others cancelled?
