  1. OU - boiling
  2. BU - just enough
  3. oSu - talented
  4. K-State - probably better than preseason #9
  5. ISU - run the damn ball!
  6. TCU - disappointing
  7. Texas - off
  8. WVU - game
  9. Ku - offensive
  10. TxT - off
No change in rankings based on this week's games. Baylor didn't look the part but won the game, so there's that. WVU is suddenly dangerous. oSu's building a resume'. TCU was disappointing but Hubbard is a handful, isn't he. Despite earlier reports, Ku's offensive coordinator probably not ready for the NFL just yet.

Muddle remains this Nov 10th, but here are my before-Mass thoughts nonetheless.

  1. Baylor- please, beat those entitled land thieves (God, forgive me for cheering BU.)
  2. OU - yah, that defense is really steller, talking heads
  3. UT - detestable
  4. oSu - Bedlam's going to be a hoot
  5. K-State - injuries piling-up
  6. ISU - gamest outfit in the B12
  7. TCU - may be undervalued
  8. TxT - surprise beatdown of WVU
  9. WVU - see TxT
  10. Ku - sucks

I don't think the Big 12 has an elite team this year and head to head is less useful than usual for these power rankings. So, maybe I'm a homer but this is what I think if every team played all the others 10 times on neutral fields.

1. Oklahoma
2. Iowa State
3. Baylor
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma State
6. Kansas State
7. TCU
8. Texas Tech
9. West Virginia
10. Kansas

Iowa State losing two road games by a total of 3 points pushes it further down the standings than it should be in a team quality ranking IMO.

Come on, Baylor beat us and is undefeated.

I think he was just trolling.

I'm not, and it's OK if you don't agree but it's a defensible position. I think Iowa State wins 5 or 6 games out of 10 against Baylor on a neutral field. Losing by 2 on a walk-off field goal on the road supports that. And Baylor is less than a point better than Iowa State in SP+. It's lazy to only count up Ws and Ls and use that for power rankings.

I’d go:
1. Oklahoma
2. Baylor (2nd until proven directly vs. OU & UT)
3. Texas
4 (T). Oklahoma State, Kansas State (OSU won head-to-head, KSU beat OU)
6. Iowa State (competitive consistently, still no W’s vs. bowl locks)
7. TCU (beat Texas, didn’t threaten ISU)
8. Texas Tech (Beat OSU, that’s about it)
9. West Virginia
10. Kansas

Difference among 2/3 thru 6 will sort itself out soon.
