It is a very odd draft pool this year. A ton of senior post players this year, which is highly unusual. It will be fun to see where Bridget goes, but I think the story of the draft will be post selection order. Would you take Brown, McCowen, Collier, Turner, Gufstaston, Anigwe....

A bunch of teams are going to get a great post player...if Bridget slips to the early 2nd, some team is going to get a great post and Bridget...I'd call that a nice draft.

Was curious how much WNBA players make so did a quick search. (from SwishAppeal.com) The first through fourth picks in the 2019 WNBA Draft will earn $53,537, the fifth through eighth picks will earn $49,539 and the ninth through 12th picks will earn $44,207. Second round picks will earn $42,570. Third round picks will earn the minimum of $41,965.

Why ouch? Training camp starts in late April and the Season is done in September. So thats a $40K salary for 6 months, leaving you another 6 months of the year to do another job. Some go play overseas during the offseason. Others get other jobs.

I think most of them play over seas in the off season and make quite a bit more.

Only the biggest stars make good money either here or overseas and even the biggest stars usually play both. Playing both is kind of a drag on careers and bodies. One of the biggest stars in the league, Maya Moore, isn't even playing this year. The money overseas isn't what it was 10 years ago or so when a bunch of Russian oligarchs were competing to see who could buy the best team.

Well, on to the 2nd round. Neither the Big 10 or Big 12 POY got picked. Not too surprised, based on the many draft projections out there. Do expect Gustafson to go soon and Carleton not too long after that.

I am assuming Bridget was not at the draft in person? Didn't see her but by the 2nd round ESPN kinda spent most of their time talking about Notre Dame so who knows. o_O
