Ok, yeah it’s 43.
5 for the guy, 5 for each shoe, 2 for each red thing he’s holding = 19. Take that times 2 and then add 5 for 43.

Code:
3x      = 30            x=10

2y +  x = 20            substitute x
2y + 10 = 20
2y      = 10            solve for y
 y      =  5

2z +  y = 13            substitute y
2z +  5 = 13
2z      =  8            solve for z
 z      =  4

x/2 + z/2 * (y + x + z) = ?

5 + 2 * (5+10+4) = 43 + k         order of operations always prevails

Edit: Edited because I missed that the two rolled-up blankets become just one in the final equation.
Edit2: Yeesh. And missed that there is only one shoe in the final equation also. No wonder there's so many answers.
Edit3: And. Yes. Every time I look at it, there's more that I missed the first time. **** this guy. It isn't a math question, it's an attention to detail test. One that I failed miserably.

Edit4: There is no correct answer. He put on some wristbands in the final equation. We have no idea what value is put on those.

Lord I have failed this test so hard.

But I think the answer is 43 + whatever value is on those wristbands the guy put on at the end.

There is no such rule in math for wearing symbols that aren't even the same. That is undefined.
