Not exactly sure.

Interesting from the Flo article
It is unclear at this time if Gross will receive a sixth year of eligibility or not. It is also not clear what schools, if any, South Dakota State will potentially block Gross from transferring to.

I didn't know schools had the ability to block schools with the new transfer rules or as a grad transfer

On the second transfer they do. We were able to give Downey a no go on some. This will be gross’s third school.

If this is true, it will be interesting to see if SDSU blocks Wisconsin. Also who applies for the 6th year?

I found this for football.
https://247sports.com/season/2019-Football/TransferPortal/#Big-12

I know there is one for wrestling, anybody have information on if it is available to public, how many wrestlers are on it, etc?

I believe I heard once you sign up, It does not necessarily mean you are transferring, but the wrestler has given up the right to his scholarship.

So the way I understand it the NCAA portal or transfer database is only supposed to be available to student athletes and coaches and athletic departments. It is password protected. The screen shots and announcements of people entering the portal is due to this information being given to media by someone who has an account. The portal was originally designed to be a more private way to shop schools so to speak. 247sports Flo and others are getting information from those who are able to access the database. All sports are listed within the same database, there is a column that denotes sport.

Living in the madison area, this was my first year as season ticket holder for Badger wrestling since Bono/Reader came to town. There have been rumblings about Gross to Wisconsin for several months now. Will be interesting to see if SDSU allows it.

If it happens that'll be big time for the Wisconsin program. They've got some stud coming in Barnett/Burwick for the lower weights and having gross to bridge their redshirt year at 133 would be big for long term out look, plus give the Badgers a big time 1-2 punch of Gross/Wick in the lineup for next season.

Willie Saylor of Flo said there are currently 9 pages of wrestlers in the portal. Now that does include at divisions in the Ncaa.

He said it went from 6 pages to 9 pages in a very short period of time.

This was mentioned on the recent FRL. Also Christian Plyes was wearing an Iowa State wrestling shirt.

JUCOs just had their championship this past week. I would guess there are several of them now looking for homes.

I am not sure Juco can enter this portal. Same for NAIA.

I assume it was just for D1, D2 and D3.

I really have no idea though
