That is awesome. Glad to see them getting recognition. Of course, it would be impossible to ignore Kristin Scott this week.

I remember an ISU men's player going 11 for 11 once and I thought that was a big deal but that was all 2 point shots if I remember correctly. I think it was Mark Baugh.

Scott was a no brainer for the honor this week. Kinda surprised at Joens, other freshman must not have done well. She was very good against OSU, and was kinda overwhelmed at Baylor and only had 4 pts. Kinda like the week before with 3 pts against WVU and than bombed away for 25 pts against the Sooners. Even with the ups and downs she is better overall than I could have hoped for from a freshman. Couldn't realistically have penciled her in for 48% in 3pt shots in Big 12 play regardless of her HS stats. :)

Glad both are doing well in Big 12 because we need them with Wise and Camber slumping (Camber's is season long). There is really no bench scoring after you get past the three posts sharing the 40 minutes in the paint.

I like that even though she isn't getting points in those games she is still finding ways to contribute like getting 7 rebounds against Baylor and 5 against WVU. So many times with freshman scorers if they are struggling from the field the rest of their game falls to pieces - especially on the road.

The statute of limitations is over on this, but I sat in Mark Baugh's guest seats many times. His girlfriend at the time was a secretary for my girlfriend, and she rarely used them. I seem to remember something messy happening there between them. But my feeble memory can't place it.

Ashley Joens a rare 5-star who's humble, extremely coachable, hard-working, and wants to get better every day---a coach's dream. Since her poor shooting game vs Iowa, she has been on fire.

~ and ISU recruited her younger sister Aubrey.......and there are two more younger sisters after that!

Bill might as well get Courtney to grad transfer from Illinois as well. ;)

Actually, some senior leadership at that PG position might help in the transition post Middleton & Carleton.
