I worry about his play vs bigger physical teams. Against Iowa he had some issues as well.
Pretty good company for someone a lot of people here seem to think is a ****** player.
I’d like to see that again. It seemed like that tip back had some crazy spin/angle to it.
If we shoot the ball at home as well as okie st did at their home we might have trouble losing a home game this year. I'm feeling like we might have some of the magic back. Even after a win that was a little bit rough around the edges.
Yeah, the volume shooter role is more than filled with THT, Wigginton and Shayok.

The offense really worked when the ball moved. When we came down and chucked up the first available 3, not so much. I was really impressed with the way the defense responded to the challenge of the horrific end to the first half. Prohm made some outstanding adjustments. Solo, Lewis, Talley and even Conditt need to stay ready. There will be games we need their contributions.
Yep. As I recall, he was essentially Johnny Orr's first recruit and helped to start a Chicago pipeline in the 1980s. Started for 4 years. All Big 8 on defense as a way undersized forward (wasn't even 6'4"). Decent mid-range game.
He hung around Ames for a few years after his eligibility ended and I played with him quite a few times.
He has an interesting form but he rarely takes ill-advised shots.
Most of the 3s we took tonight were open though. Those are good shots. Sure you can try to move the ball around more, but the chances are you probably wont get a better shot. Hoiberg's teams thrived on this philosophy. If you have a good shot, take it. You run offense with the hopes of creating a good shot, if you get one in transition, you need to shoot it. The game is not as simple as "just drive to the rim for layups or fouls every time". I think teams are starting to pack it inside against us knowing we aren't a great shooting team. Hopefully Wigginton starts to make some.
I agree with you though that a couple fast breaks we could have gone to the basket instead of shooting a 3 (the Wigginton 3 in transition comes to mind).
Three huge contributors in the non con(shayok, tht, jacobsen) had bad games........and we still won. It doesn't matter who it was against or where.....that is a good sign.
Wow, if you add twenty more fans to those seats, it would've matched their gameday crowd from last night.
Eh, I think Jacobson did quite well in the minutes he played at Iowa. It was unfortunate he had to play in foul trouble all game, and that Pemsl tool came in and caused him to pick up an extra foul as well. Lard and Jacobson will both be very important in Big 12 play.
Solid win for this team coming off of a break and adding new pieces. Our depth really helped last night. THT, Jacobson, and Lard all sitting with fouls in the first half and we still had a quality group on the floor. That would have killed us in previous years.
