It was nice to get the no road wins thing off of the team's back. Overall I think they played fairly well, but Shayak was taking a lot of questionable shots, and not making many. Also, they had a string of 4-5 TOs in a row after they got up by 7 or 8 with 3 or so minutes left. Could have made it a lot easier game.

Really? As others have stated, he had great looks on a lot of the shots he took and just missed more than usual. I can't believe how some people are so quick to react to one game's worth of shooting from someone, geez.

I didn't get to watch - what happened at the end of the first half? Seen quite a few comments on it. Sounds like OSU went on a run but couldn't tell if it was due to them playing well or us playing poorly.
Mostly we were up 8, then a couple of bad shots, a turnover and 3 straight OSU 3's led to the 1 point halftime deficit.

Basketball happened. We were up 8. We missed 4 shots in a row, they hit 3 of 4 from Three.

We could've covered the 3-point line better last night, but it wasn't anything monumentally catastrophic by any means like some seemed to believe.
Two of those 3s were bad shots for OSU, they just happened to hit them. Its a make/miss game some times.

Solo came into the game, and the offense kinda came off the tracks, coupled with OSU hitting 3s lead to a 9-0 run. I hope Young can get his legs back under him and gel with the team, we certainly will have our best team if he's able to play good minutes in February, but not surprised Prohm didn't put him back in, in the second half.

Okie St. hit three 3 pointers from about 30 feet to erase an eight point deficit. We did have a bad TO out of a time out in that span.

Yeah it was really a matter of we went cold and they got hot. I didn't take much from it as far as breakdowns in defense goes. They hit some deep threes in that stretch too.

Thought it was a good first conference game given the circumstances, i.e. still getting guys back into the flow. Thought there were really good stretches of offense and then really poor ones with a lot of one on one play. I imagine Wigginton starts from here on out.
Lard looked better.
THT looked like a freshman for one of the few times this year.
Thought Talley would have played more.

Conference opener on the road and Haliburton plays 39 minutes as a true freshmen. The level of trust and confidence the coaches have in him is off the charts.

I really like the depth we are developing in the front-court. Having 3 bigs that are all capable of providing good minutes will be huge for us this year and a major upgrade over our depth in that area in a long time.

Really big win. If you want to finish in the top half of the league, you need to beat the bottom half of the league on the road, that's what we did last night.

Interestingly, the Jacobson/Lard/Young combo added up to 40 minutes, which tells me that they all played at the 5. I expect that Jacobson will slide in some minutes at the 4 to expand out the available minutes to this group, but the usage last night might mean that this doesn't happen as much as we thought it would.

ISU is a thin (lean) bodied team. If we make shots from the outside we will win. cold shooting night and the lower tiered teams will challenge or beat us.

So, what do you call 36.3% from the floor? Scorching? When you can shoot that crappy and still win on the road, I don't think it matters what body type you are.

His 3's were ALL good looks.

Looks like we found this year's guy to bag on.
We as a fan base love to rag on the best players.

While I do agree that he was taking good shots, there were at least a few he could have passed it for a “great” shot.

Yes, this is what I mean; his form is not ideal. His shot selection is excellent.

"Chucker" wasn't derived from a single game. Having more options will help. We are still in an adjustment period.

We can go 10 deep easily if we have to. Talley and Lewis are both capable of providing 10-15 minutes a game against Big 12 competition if they have to. I think you are forgetting how much both of them played last year.

Playing a lot on a bad team does not say much good for you. Most teams that turn their fortunes around do so by turning over much their roster/rotation.

I like Zoran and glad he is a Cyclone -- he is solid bench depth with a high floor, even if his ceiling is limited because he is kind of limited offensively. He is a senior, though, so you kind of know what you are getting compared to a younger player.

I love Lewis -- I think the potential there is still obvious. I still hope/think he morphs into a good bench gunner as a junior and senior. He might never have a full-time starting job or play more than 20-25 minutes per night, but I can see him coming in next year, scoring 12 real fast to put some pressure on a defense, and then tagging back out.
