Oh, right. I mean, who would ever dream of coaching their favorite team? How stupid of me to make that enormous leap. My mistake. Carry on.
That is my point, you are making an assumption. This "dream job" claim is not based in any sort of fact. Do I know what is going on inside of CMC's head? of course not. But I know that he has never said that is his dream job. From all I have gathered in his time with ISU is he loves being a college football coach because of all the other things that go into it. (recruiting, molding players, building a culture, etc.)

I'll gladly eat crow if he ends up going to the NFL, but I'll continue to rebuff this claim that the Cleveland Browns are his dream job haha

CFH is a great coach in his ability to recruit and develop his players. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be a fine NBA coach that man just wins wherever he goes.

Saying that he just seems to be a better college coach. That isn’t a knock on him. It’s just the NBA is a fickle game with managing egos and grown men.

I think CFH does a better job at building relationships and instilling a culture. In the NBA job security is low and you don’t get to control all aspects of the program. I think Hoiberg values his control to guide the trajectory of ISU Basketball.

In the NBA coaches gets blame for a lot of things they don’t have the ability to manipulate.

I kid. Sort of.

CMC has repeatedly said he is just getting started at Iowa State. I have no reason to not believe the man. It seems to me his wife likes Ames, and he does too, and he enjoys the appreciation for what he's accomplished here. I think he has allegiances and loyalties, and a great relationship with Jamie Pollard. I would be absolutely SHOCKED if he goes ANYWHERE for at least a couple years, if he even leaves us at all.

Why (Riley) take the Browns job when the Cowboys job will be open?
And I'm definitely not a Cowboys fan.

Like I said, Dorsey is running this show now and he's getting a jump on next year. Williams will probably survive for the year but he's a cancer and needs to go then too.

Gregg Williams should just go full double bird and put up bounty boards on the sidelines the rest of the year

I'd keep an eye on Kansas City's staff given Dorsey's history. The Chiefs' OC position has basically been a fast track to a head coaching job the last few years with Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy. Maybe Eric Bienemy is next. Dave Toub is a very highly regarded special teams coordinator and he's interviewed for head coaching jobs in the past.

I am really happy that Notre Dame is having a good season.

Campbell is Catholic. People do not mention that very often.

He screams the kind of guy they would want to replace Kelly.

Everybody gets fired after a year or 2 at Cleveland. They don’t give anyone a chance to build anything there. Not sure why someone would walk into that mess when they know they will be looking for another job soon

A) It is Campbell's dream job.
B) Campbell's resume is not that impressive yet. I'm not worried.
B isn’t really true. I mean Auburn wanted Chizik after being 5-19 here and Wisconsin was coming after Paul Rhoads after a couple 6 win seasons here. Connections help and I’m sure Campbell has plenty of Ohio Valley connections

It's impressive if you understand the context. But it's one thing for a GM or AD to be aware of how difficult it has been to win at ISU. It's entirely another to convince the fans who buy the tickets that the guy with a 15-17 record is the next big thing for their team.
