Those are all good defenses. That Bulls team had 3 first team All NBA defenders for that year. Though I have seen some other team defensive stats that show other defenses as better compared to their era, so the stats probably don't back my claim.
Honest question did you ever watch the NBA in the 80s those Pistons defenses were ridiculous not to mention the Celtics, in the 60s era Celtics defenses were easily the best of all time not even a question . Nobody considers those bulls defenses as a top defenseive team of all time. They weren't even the best defense of their era.

Bulls fans love to reminisce about average role players on their team somehow becoming legendary like after 20 years has passed . You had Jordan and Pippen and that was it. I've never heard a group of people that want to glorify Ron Harper so much

You as kidding right? The best rebounder of all time is a role player?

Lol just to name a few. I swear nobody watch basketball before the bulls and nobody has watch basketball after . It honestly is hilarious to listen to people talk about them. Like really you forgot about the Pistons and the Celtics defenses are you kidding me. Tons of better defenses before the bowls and tons of better defenses after them

No, just no, to this entire post.

In terms of all time defensive players, you have the #1 perimeter defender of all time in Jordan. Maybe the best SF defensive player of all time. I would say Pippen and James are pretty equal in that regard. And one of the top 3 or 4 defensive PFs of all time. Plus a really good defender in Harper. Elite perimeter defense.

Now it terms of all time defensive teams. If you want to go all time, I am guessing Russell's Celts would be the most dominant defensive teams of all time. The one thing that stops the Bulls from probably being all time best is no rim-protector center. Same with the Warriors. The Spurs teams with Robinson and Duncan were really good defensive teams. Knicks in the mid 90's. Celts big 3. Pistons with Wallace. But again, hard to compare because of the eras.

I think another thing is the Jordan factor. Meaning he would take the challenge against Curry and Durant very, very personally and would do anything it takes to prove his dominance.
See this is why you can't argue with Bulls fans. Well Jordan would win because he would want to show his dominance so he'd score 1000 points just to prove it he was better. Delusion.

I didnt watch basketball before the Bulls because I was 7 when the Bulls won their first championship. Bulls fan here, but I dont prop them up like they are untouchable. However, you are going out of your way to discredit an amazing defense. Maybe not greatest of all time, but in the conversation, for sure.

anyway, to steer this conversation back towards the original topic, Whether they're the best, 10th best, or 50th best is immaterial, they're uniquely suited to matchup well with Golden State because they didn't rely on a big slow 7 footer to anchor the defense.

It really is strength vs strength. A great shooting team vs a team with great perimeter defenders.

So what happens when Durant starts driving to the rim, Curry starts his totally-not-a-double-dribble nonsense, and the Warriors get out on the break like they do?

You keep throwing around the "bulls fan" line. Some of us weren't Bulls fans back then or Warriors/Cavs fans now.

you act like Jordan, Rodman or Pippen can't defend the rim or provide help defense. I don't think Durant could drive on Pippen, I think he'd have more success just shooting over him.

lol why? What does one have to do with the other?

Lol. If this GS goes undefeated in this year's playoffs, they'll show they are a damn good team, and with the talent they have, I'd take them over that Bulls team.. It's not that hard.
