Let us know when you find a world beater that we've got a shot at landing in late May.Doesn't seem like a world beater but they haven't even offered yet so I guess I will wait and see what happens.

You can leave the thread if you are hoping for a world-beater at this point.

Nobody said they don't exist, although on ISU's level you can exclude Brooks from your example (unless you think we're landing Bowen or MJ Walker somehow).Deandre Kane says hi. So does Dillon Brooks.
Signing a scrub and getting a nice piece that was only very recently ruled as a qualifier are two completely different things. This is how gems are found (sometimes), they won't all work out as spring/summer recruiting is a crapshoot - but ya can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket.
If you've seen the kid's film, it's as or more impressive than Jakolby Long's HS senior tape.
Well I would prefer they don't just sign a scrub just bc there is no one else. They don't have to use it. Prohm said himself that if they don't find the right fit they don't have to use it this summer.

Halsted just posted a a list of some of the other schools that have reached out... they're not scrub programs. Kids in a unique position because he was just ruled a 2017 qualifier last week.
I'm saying that level of player (world beater) is hard to come by this time of year.. and I was saying that in all of my reactions to your comment, not just one. Dillon Brooks level guys (unless there is a pre existing relationship) aren't usually holding out for ISU offers this time of year. DeAndre Kane type guys (nice pieces, and maybe even high level college players, but not world beaters) might still be available or maybe, just maybe, have just become available. Why do I have to exclude Brooks? He isn't the same thing as Bowen or MJ Walker. ISU had a chance with Brooks because of the Naz Long connection.
I know that good players at this stage are harder to get because there are fewer of them but that doesn't mean you should take on someone that isn't going to play just to fill a spot.
Great scoutingThere is also no difference between a scrub and a scrub that recently qualified.
I am just not impressed with his numbers or his film. I would prefer they take a guy they know can contribute next year or wait and sign a higher rated kid for next year.

Spin it whatever way you want. Means the same thing, no matter how bad your day has apparently been so far.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't take schools reaching out without offering as anything more than that and teams reach at this time of the year, all the time. Even blue bloods do from time to time. Last year ISU took Holden. They also reached and took Kasongo, Ernst, Carter etc.
Let's see. Wichita State, VCU, Texas Tech, Pitt's reached out I believe, UCSB, LMU, St. Boneventure, East Carolina. Long Beach State. Are there any that I missed?
This is what Cowley has under his info, from before the year. Found it interesting as he shot over 35% from 3.
"Gifted low block scorer that is also strong on the defensive end. Could be a potential impact player for the team."
One thing I found interesting, he was relatively consistent with his scoring. double digits every night, but not sure he scored more than 20.
Great scouting

Neill Berry just followed him on twitter
Dylan Brooks would have been ours had we not gave our last scholarship to the Greek kid. We would have had the edge on him had he stayed in his original class and not reclassified. He chose Oregon because they had a scholarship. We didn't. That didn't work out for us. Man could you imagine Brooks on last years team? Ugh
