Reading course evaluations. Another semester, another need for a bigger hat.
Do they make those things expandable? That would save money.

Note: This doesn't fit in the humble brag thread. I'm not pretending to be humble about it.
Should look good on your CV, too! I like hearing that students actually give positive reviews. Seems like most of the time we only hear the negatives, so brag away...humble or not. :)

Most of the complaints I see are things like:
"I wish the semester could be longer. I don't want the class to end."
"He doesn't teach my other classes."

Something people miss: The complaints usually have some merit. One student noted that we should have assigned fewer readings, and they're right. It was more than we could actually deal with thoroughly, so we'd skip some.

Otherwise, sometimes the complaints mean that you're not very good at that part of the job.

There's constructive criticism, and there's complaining. I have no problem with the former - if you don't get honest feedback, you don't know what needs fixing.

But then there are students that complain about tests despite skipping 1/2 the classes, or who tend to write five sentences for a lab report and then whine about the low grades they receive. And those types tend to be the loudest. :)
