Have received a number of presumed scams while on CF. There is a warning that personal data (facebook, cc#, et. al.) has been compromised. The warning refers me to an alleged MS support number and I can't leave the site. I have to shut my browser down with task manager. While I couln't swear that this has happened only on CF, it seems to be limited to this site since I've been paying attetion.

Today about 4:40.

Certainly a scam and you likely have some malware or viruses that you should clean up.

It's legit. Post your Social Security Number and a credit card number immediately and I will take care of it for you.

Facebook is full of fake celebrity death "news" ads this evenng. Let's see, Jessica Lange, Regis Phibin and some other guy I recognized by his picture but not his name all died today. Or not. These are notorious for redirects and fake virus warning scams etc.

You may want to consider installing Lubuntu instead of Ubuntu if your old computer is a little light on hardware resources.
