Eh, the person involved in the alleged physical altercation was Lagerald Vick. The person who kicked her door was Josh Jackson. I know they have similar haircuts but they are in fact not the same people.

This is no more complicated than the details suggest; two people who have bad history argued at a gathering where too much alcohol was likely consumed. The girl threw a drink in the boys face and a friend of the boy's kicked the door of the car she got into standing up for his friend. It sounds like the events at nearly every apartment party I went to from age 21-24.

I've never seen a man kick the door of a female's car while she was in it ever and all I did in college was party

....
Jackson is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court at 3 p.m. April 12, seven business days after the NCAA championship game......

Shocking timing. But I don't know why they really went that far out, they would have been safe to schedule the hearing after the second round.

As an attorney, I am well aware how the system works and the discussions that go on during these to manipulate time frames. Yes, it happens frequently and clearly did here. I am not saying it is unique to this case other than how the charges were brought to get it to a misdemeanor level which was probably also part of the negotiations that have already occurred.

And yes, Random, seeking out a female individual's vehicle to cause significant damage to after previously assaulting that person in an effort to send her the message that you can still hurt her and you have others willing to assist is intimidation, harassment, stalking, etc. There is no WTF other than how ridiculous you look trying to defend any adult male acting that way toward a woman. Although since it is a random message board, you may still be a kid. If so, I hope you have learned better from your parents and adults in your life than what Jackson and Vick are learning from the adults in their lives. Because that message they are receiving is that winning a championship is more important than how you treat others.

There is no manipulation of a time frame here. A court date a month and a half after being charged is better than average.

Huh? Blaming for WHAT? Now you're really stretching.
"Agreed. Who knows what's going on in her life. If you're at a bar in the wee hours of the morning throwing drinks in the face of an old boyfriend then there might be some things going on in your life that might affect your performance in other parts of your life."

Attempting to turn it into something more nefarious than that is a self serving agenda against KU basketball and those involved with it.

Jackson made a bad decision. His penchant for getting technical fouls tells me that he has a natural tendency to not control his frustrations well and this seems to be another example of that. Like the adjustment he has had to learn the hard way on the court, just shut your mouth when you are frustrated and let it go and your life is less complicated.
Two guys vs one girl. And you defend the guys. Well done.

These Kansas mens players seem like very respectable men. They should build a special facility for them to live as a reward and for them to be able to stay out of trouble........

We live in an age now where women's behavior is basically ignored. Many now believe that they have the power to do ANYTHING THEY WANT with no consequence because of the lynch mob mentality against anyone who reacts negatively to a woman. It is a power that is now abused on a regular basis. Calling this victim blaming is a perfect example.

Questioning why she is in a bar throwing a drink in her face was not done to justify kicking her car door. As I stated before, that was an unacceptable reaction by Jackson and he should face the appropriate consequences for it. But questioning what is going on with her as it relates to her general mental well being and focus and how that would affect her performance on the court is not victim blaming. At some point, everyone needs to hold themselves accountable for their actions and decisions and how they impact your own life. The victim mentality of today's society whee every gets to blame someone else for their lot in life makes me want to puke. Give it a break.

And that's why they delayed charging the person they have known did it forever.
It's called gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. To bring charges, you need more than just "the victim said it was him." Good grief, I get the rivalry against Kansas but it is comical how hard people are trying to turn this into some giant conspiracy. This isn't a tv show where all criminal investigations are wrapped up in an hour.

I missed the "two guys vs." part. So far, all I have seen of Lagerald Vick's involvement in this incident was having a drink thrown in his face. Him vs. her seems to be a bit of a stretch. That's like calling a foul on a defender for having his face get in the way of an offensive players elbow.

AND AGAIN, I am not defending the actions of Jackson or anyone else.

Kicked in the face seems a tad worse.
Hitting a girl and throwing her down some stairs SEEMED worse when it was alleged that it was what Carlton Bragg did, too. It's dangerous to assume you know what happened in an event when all you have to go on is selectively chosen bits of allegations supplied by a biased media source. Has this whole Presidential election not taught us anything?

This thread is like a dog whistle for Tuco. It's funny and pathetic to follow.
This thread is about Kansas basketball players. I try to limit my interactions here to threads about Kansas basketball players. It's not that strange.

Car doors, bathroom doors, apartment doors. I have seen a million people whack a door that stood between them and someone they were arguing with to show that they were frustrated with that person.

What consequences will Jackson have to face?
