Is the the worst late hit you've ever seen?

I think the rule is that if you're ejected in the second half of a game you automatically are suspended for the first half of the next game. That said, I expect him to be suspended all of the next game, and wouldn't be surprised to see him miss two games. That is probably the most egregious late hit I've seen.

I was watching this live, and the only thing I could think of to make it seem (a tiny bit) better was maybe he was thinking NFL rules for some unknown reason.

Probably not.

Is it sad that I (and probably everyone who saw that game) knew exactly what hit you were referring to before opening the thread?

Watching it live, this was what I thought had happened. Definitely got his money's worth on that hit.

Needs to be suspended the next game at the most.

So does somebody need to die before you'd understand there has to be sufficient punishment for dangerous stupidity? I understand acting on emotion, but that kind of BS should warrant a 3-5 game suspension IMO. Until jerks like that understand there are repercussions for their actions, they'll keep doing it.

I was gonna ask if the NCAA and/or Big 10 can/has handed down suspensions for hits that exceed the published "rest of the game and/or first half of next game" rule.

Then found an article that the Big 10 did just that in 2009 against a Buckeye for a helmet-to-helmet hit, so there is hope. Would be nice to see a conference, NCAA, or school make a bit of a statement....though I don't see Miles being the type to do it himself.

I have to admit, I was certain this thread was going to be the "late hit" that Cyclones.TV has given those of us trying to login to watch the game. That was brutal.
