It gets bad in Minnesota. I read stories in newspapers about fans leaving stuffed gophers and signs in recruits lawns. It's one of those situations where NCAA probably thinks it isn't a big deal but it's still violation I believe.
Maybe I'm wrong, but this doesn't seem like a big deal for Iowa. If the kid is legitimately trying to get better on the field, why not go learn from a few more coaches? I get that camps are where coaches get a chance to evaluate talent, but it's also a good chance for players to learn and develop.
I don't think it's a big deal for them at this point, either. He's one of their lower-rated recruits and clearly seems to have some issues in terms of commitment, need for attention, etc. It's also possible that, even with his talent, that weight problems will plague him. It's early on in the process. I would think if he did this without them knowing it or he decommits again, they will tell him to get lost.
It is actually true. His rating keeps going down. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go down on rivals even more after the update. On Scout he is only a 2 star and his composite rating on 247 is about 85 it used to be about 90
7th out of 10 according to 247 composite rating. Would sting a bit to lose him though.
He's kind of a wildcard. Good enough to get loads of offers from top programs, but now seems to be sliding at least in stars/ratings. Huge kid, seems to be a bit of a drama queen, didn't play against top level talent in HS. Hope he stays because there could be some real upside, but wouldn't be shocked if he decommitted.
Dang, I didn't realize he was knocking on the door of 4 bills. One bad off season and he could tip that scale pretty easily.
Since he committed Iowa's strength staff are making him use straps on his cleans now so he's lost a lot of his power
I think what happened is he just got too big. His tape against lower competition last year doesn't look that good. Also seems like a kid that is a little lost because of bad homelife. Kid was claiming for awhile he was related to Tommie Harris and had to apologize for saying that. I saw that couple times he was talking trash to other Hawkeye commits and recruits.

Edit: a previous version of this post said that Harris was the nephew of former Bears defensive lineman Tommie Harris. That evidently isn't true, as Juan Harris apologized for making that up on Twitter.
