A great finish we may bet a 3 seed. Lose at ku, maybe drop another and sub par conf tourni and maybe a 5 or 6. It really doesn't matter. We need to play well, get good matchups and have some luck. Pretty much like every team in the tournament.

Yes. Could be considered fringe-5 if you scrutinize away-from-home results, but likely solid-4 and is likely to stay that way if no additional bad losses come.

For some reference, the ESPN brackets have Arizona, Texas, Purdue and Notre Dame as #5 seeds.

Arizona: 2 Top 50 wins at home versus Oregon State and USC
Texas: 6 Top 50 wins but also 2 sub Top 50 losses and a third loss to a sub 150 team
Notre Dame: 4 Top 50 wins
Purdue: 4 Top 50 wins

ISU has SEVEN Top 50 wins, including those wins over likely top 2 seeds in KU, OU and Iowa. Honestly, ISU is going to have to drop a few bad games to drop off that 4 line in my opinion.

This is the least intimidating KU team I've seen in a while. Just think about what they usually have. For the past 3 years they've had legit one and done guard/combo and a dominant defensive big in the middle and in the case of Embiid a dominant defensive and offensive big to go along with the one and done guard/combo two years ago.

Who is the dominant defensive big we had last year. CLIFF?!?

and KU won at OU and TT.....something ISU didn't do. ISU has lost twice at home already....I'm sure you will predict an ISU win in Lawrence and it won't happen.

Well my K-boo friend, you're making feel better with every post. You refuse to acknowledge that K-boo was humiliated by OSU(selective memory?), and are wrong(again) in being "sure" I'll bet ISU vs K-boo.
Your track record ain't great, keep it up!

No dominant big man last year but you did have a legit one and done guard in Oubre. The main point I'm making is that you have neither this season. No one and done guard/SF combo type and no actual big defensive presence inside.

and ISU lost to UNI....my point is all teams lose a game that they shouldn't. it doesn't matter if you lose by 1 or 35...a loss is a loss. McKay the other night had 0 points and 3 rebounds....do u think that will win in Lawrence? Self has been at KU since 03' and only has 9 losses at home....think about that.

Selden is having a better Big 12 season on the wing than Oubre did last year and Graham is having a massively better season at the SG than Selden did last year. So overall, what KU is getting this year from the perimeter of Mason, Graham and Selden is much better than what they got from last year's perimeter of Mason, Selden and Oubre. Whether that wing production is from a freshman or a junior is irrelevant to how good they are.

I'm certainly not predicting a win at KU, just saying KU has weaknesses that can be exploited. And I think it's foolish to say there's no difference between an overtime loss and the bend over, grab your ankles sodimizing KU received from OSU. Big difference.
Oh, and ISU has beaten K-boo in 4 of the last 5 games, the only team to do that in the Self era...think about that.

Bottom line, KU had their little 13 day swoon where they played with questionable intensity and decision making but are now back on track and winners of 6 in a row. Meanwhile all of the other contenders in the Big 12 are going through their lulls: West Virginia has lost 2 of 3. Oklahoma has lost 3 of 4. Baylor has lost 3 of 5. Texas has lost 2 of 3. Iowa State has lost 2 of 3. We'll see how long each teams lull continues and how well they rally out of it but I like that KU got theirs done a little earlier and look to be back on track with enough time to really hit their peak down the stretch. I certainly acknowledge the fact that KU got thumped by a bad OSU team. I just don't see it as anything more than what it is, a bad performance in a game.

and yet KU still finishes ahead of ISboooo....ISU has a bigger weakness, it's called not playing defense.

I wasn't talking about how good they are. I'm talking about how intimidating they are.

Kelly Oubre last year was more intimidating than Wayne Selden this year? OK. I get it for Wiggins but Oubre was no Wiggins. Not all OAD players are alike.

We're familiar with Seldon at this point, there's tons of film on him, our guys have guarded him plenty of times.
