You're selling yourself short. You guys would probably wreck the SEC if you joined. Screw this B1G crap. Never mind that Nebby won at the same clip in their first 3 years in the B1G as they did in the final 3 years in the Big 12. That's just facts. You're right. Silly to think that ISU wouldn't come in and be "much more competitive" in the B1G than they are in the Big 12. Nebby couldn't do it, but they're Nebby. They're not ISU.

I think that's the point, Big 12 North = Big 10 = not very good

I agree, will probably be the reason they lose a couple games down the stretch. Teams with good depth tend to get better as the season progresses. I don't think Iowa will with the lack of talent

You're not very good at this are you?

Sure. Great way to be Little Brother forever. Let's go be a junior member of the B1G. No thanks. Can't believe how people undervalue where we are at right now. BYU and a bunch of others would take our spot in a minute. Good league with good competition. Stop whining and figure out a way to compete in the Big XII. Time to put on the big boy pants and start taking football seriously. President Leath, what say you?
Not sure anyone in Ames knows how to do better in B12. If we were King for a Day, the offense would have to average 40 points a game, the defense would be tighter, and the three non conf games would be KSU type creampuffs.

Where are we going to get our recruits from if we were in the B1G?

Most of our players are here because they are the left over from Okie and Texas and we can sell playing back in their home state.

They have how many from OK? What about all the kids from FL or CA? Might be more FL kids than TX kids.

Our best RB and best OL are from Oklahoma and I know we got a couple WR recruits from there this last class. Don't know if we have anyone else from there though

Not only is ISU 0-1 vs the Big Ten (almost beat Iowa=lost by two touchdowns), they are 0-1 vs the MAC, and many years they are 0-1 vs the MVC.

LOL that ISU would be competing for Big Ten West Championships. Without any question at all ISU is worse than:

Iowa
Wisconsin
Nebraska
Northwestern

Not even a question.

I would be willing to bet money ISU wouldn't come close to 5 wins if they played a ten game series vs:

Minnesota
Illinois

And I bet if ISU played Purdue at Jack Trice next Saturday Purdue would be at least a six point favorite.

Know your place Cyclone Fan. You are delusional.

Number of loses vs MAC teams since 2000.

Iowa State - 4
Iowa - 4

Continue trolling.

Kansas State has won more B12 conference games than anyone in the last 3 years and they don't play the typical brand of B12 football (no defense). It's not as if you have to play a certain style in order to win, or would win more games if you played in the BIG. You have to be good to win games. Nebraska was dominant in the B12 and is now 12-13th in the league currently and 0-2 in conference games. But I'm sure Iowa State would settle in better than Nebraska...

No. What that means is that Iowa treats the ISU game as it should: a non-conference game to get you ready to play the conference season. ISU usually plays the game with more intensity and emotion because they believe it is one of the few wins they will get.

There it is folks! Who had post #170 before this gem made its appearance?

iowa lacks depth NOW. having some depth has allowed them win all their games, albeit in ugly fashion, to this point despite a ton of guys getting hurt.

many further injuries and they are going to fall off a cliff performance-wise.

By your logic, the Big 12 is better than the SEC due to Texas A&M and Mizzou having success while not being dominant in the Big 12. Nevermind that years after departure, their current conference does affect recruiting. So basing Nebby's past success vs current results is very idiotic.

Losses against FCS teams:

Iowa State - 6
Iowa - 0

Super.. but maybe he should have led with that stat instead of the MAC one? Maybe... just a thought.

However it was sad that FCS North Dakota State gave ISU more of fight than Iowa did last year.

And UNI (who Iowa beat) smoked NDSU last year. Transitive property in sports is awesome!

Mizzou won the North in 3 of their last 5 years, they're having similar success in the SEC. Both schools are much better now, particularly A&M who gets the best commits in the state of Texas since joining the SEC.
B12 just needs better coaching- Snyder wins and plays football like a B10 or SEC school, the rest of the B12 is like watching a high school game or arena league football.

The B1G sucks at football. This we know. We suck at football. This we know.

Would we win more games in the B1G? Probably, and if you think otherwise you are delusional. But we would still suck.

Transitive property might be applicable had you know... ISU and Iowa not played...

I can see you aren't the sharpest crayon in the box so I will help you out. I was showing how stupid your use of the transitive property was in implying that based on how both NDSU and Iowa played ISU last year, that NDSU would win and therefore Iowa wouldn't have been 6-0 against FCS teams.
