What happened?

Bourjos and Piscotty were both back in deep left tracking down a fly ball and it looked like there was some miscommunication as to who would catch it, Bourjos ended up sort of diving for it to make the catch and Piscotty half-dove too, I think to get out of the way, but Bourjos' knee caught Piscotty right on the temple, and Piscotty looked to be knocked out immediately and was driven off on a stretcher (but was moving his limbs).

Wow, that is scary.

Cardinals win!

Lead in the Central is now 4 with 5 to play. Magic number is 2.

Cardinals can clinch the NL Central and home-field advantage through the NLCS with a win tomorrow. Wacha going against a guy with an ERA over 8.00 and over 11.00 in his last two starts; definitely think tomorrow is our best chance to lock this up and gear up for the playoffs early.

Also - a win tomorrow would get St. Louis to 100 wins on the season.

So who would the Cardinals rather face? Cubs or Pirates?

Both are very good. I think the Cubs' youth might not be ready for the stage yet and (most of) the Cardinals have experience at this level already. But I also think that if it's the Cubs, we can put down an L for Game 3 of the NLDS in Sharpie thanks to Arrieta.

Right now I'm holding out hope for a 40-inning wild card game between Chicago and Pittsburgh.
