Man, the offense is really struggling out there. Seems like the same thing that has been happening all season, one unit plays well and the other stinks it up.

"Hey playoff committee that is watching this game. Change your rankings because TCU should be up by 40 right now." That's basically what he said.

The thing is, against comparable opponent and tougher schedule, they have a drastically better resume than the #5 committee team and #6 is Baylor.

We're playing like a team who just wants to cover the spread.

I don't think so or we wouldn't have tried the trick play. Their punt returner was playing like a complete idiot. We'd have been crazy to fake punt when he was a turnover +50 yards waiting to happen. Against a normal returner I bet we'd have tried a fake already.

I'd expect a 3rd quarter onside kick at some point.

Yes.

And I lol at fans that only blame our defense. Another game where the D helps keep us in it for a while and the offense does nothing.

2nd half will be a defensive collapse and 30+ point win by TCU.

I disagree that the offense has done nothing. Really the offense has done a decent job besides two players failing to execute easy plays. Don't think you can blame Mangino for either of those, but I think you could give him credit for making the right call.

We can't win even with our own fans.

Play the best defensive half all year against one of the best teams in the country = TCU isn't good.

I see our guys playing hard, our offense is just so limited it makes it difficult to keep up given our drastically depleted defense. Can't fault the effort though.

Yup, I wasn't expecting much today but the defense unexpectedly gave us a chance to be in this game and the offense couldn't do a damn thing. Lots of people paying attention to this game and we could have done something to make them notice us as something maybe more than a 2-10 team but fear we lost that chance.

9 consecutive plays of either no yards or negative yards? No.

After just running the clock out with 45 seconds left in the half, The Department of Education just called Steve Leath and the ISU college of Education to cancel that $600,000 research grant to determine by brain research if third graders respond to pumpkin spice casserole with their reading comprehension and retention.

10000% agree.

You have to be accurate with the short passes or it's garbage. Mangino's offense with Reesing was pinpoint on those quick in routes and the stuff in the flat where the backs or receivers are on the move as they catch the ball.

With us the quick slants are incomplete and none of the short stuff hits guys in stride if it is a catch.

Wally and the defensive coaches deserve a lot of credit for a good game plan so far in the first half. Heaven forbid anyone give them any though.

Fans who are outraged right now. What team have you been watching this year?

This is pretty much best case scenario. Our defense just played possibly the best half of the entire season.
Yes, the outrage should have started long ago.

When being on pace to lose 6-34 is the best case scenario, it is time to be outraged.

Weak receivers. As always. And made worse again now that Montgomery is out
