2014-15 expectations vs. 2013-14 expectations

What is everyones view on expectations for this years team vs last year? I remember last year around this time we weren't being given much credit because of losing Lucious, Clyburn, Mcgee and Babb, and we were even picked like 9th or 10th in the Big 12 by that stupid USA Today poll. Now we are regularly mentioned on ESPN and a lot of other major sports news outlets and there seems to be a new Fred article every week.

This year I feel like there is a lot more hype and a lot higher expectations especially considering the big 12 championship win and Sweet 16 appearance. I love the way the program is headed and there are exciting times ahead for ISU basketball!

1-2 losses in non-conference. Top 3 finish in the conference regular season. Big 12 Tournament title game. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. Elite 8 is possible but so is a Round of 32 loss.

My expectations are swinging wildly out control.

Realistically, I think 2nd place Big 12 finish, maybe 1 non-conference loss somewhere, and then Elite Eight/Final Four finish.

Probably go 11-1 Non-conf....12-6 conf....lose in the big 12 title game...make sweet 16

Well.....im not getting too outta control but im really not gonna be shocked if we make the Final Four. Win or finish 2nd in the regular season of the Big 12 and a possible 1 or 2 seed in the tourney. Lofty expectations yes but attainable for sure.

I expect them to go into every game knowing they can win it, no matter who they're playing, where it is, or what's at stake.

Obviously looking at the season as a whole, I don't expect us to go undefeated, but the sky is the limit for this group, IMO.

It will be interesting to see how this team does. I dont know if this years team will match or improve on last years record. Last years team had such amazing chemistry and will to win. It will be difficult to match that this year.

I do expect us to be pretty good though.

I was optimistic last year before the season, and am even more optimistic this season. I'm predicting a constant top 10 team with maybe 6 losses and at least an Elite 8 appearance.

I feel good about this team I dont think we will be a super undersized team anymore which is big when you play a team like Texas this year. Sure we'll be able to play small when we want to to exploit and advantage but we wont have to rely upon that working anymore. We'll probably pull in Dime or Diallo next year as well, definitely something you need to compete for titles.

Agreed. I think the Big 12 will come down to KU, ISU and Texas and the best road record amongst the three will win the conference. The winner will probably have to win at least one road game against the other two. Road wins against both would probably seal it.
