This morning my employer turned off the sports site block. After all, basketball is over, isn't it? As a practical matter, yes.

No your boss is a MLB fan, right?

That reminds me UCONN is off to win the NCAA WBB National, too. How sweet. Wonder why WBB interest is declining?

I just tuned in and Geno now hates Muffet? What the? He did the same thing with Summitt. Where does this kiddie sand box stuff come from (or is Geno the reason). Why all this animosity? Sad.

His period must have sank up with his team.

A the big question is...how do you recruit against UCONN without cheating? What is your sales pitch? Immediate playing time isn't enough. This one is a head scratcher.

You work somewhere where they block all sports sites? Time to find a new job.

Another thing is its probably harder to have changes in competitive balance when the long-term money equation isnt there. A school like stanford, for example, will always be able to sell its level of education, which is a bigger pitch when the possibility of a professional career is much lower and much lower paying. Elite mens players that are playing the long-game towards the NBA dont really care if their education came from teachers qualified to be teaching at MIT or teachers not qualified for the university of phoenix.

UCONN really only played six gals tonight with Stokes the only sub who played more than one minute. Starters 39, 39, 38, 38, 29, minutes.

In the finale and you have the best elite players in the country and you hate the opponent why not keep them in to crush, dominate, destroy and dispirit the opponent? Geno has said that is how he coaches.

This should be the sales pitch. Girls really do want to play. Lots of girls make choices for playing time at every level.

UConn was up by 15-20 points most of the second half. It certainly was not in doubt for the last 5 minutes. Yet bench players got 1 minute. ONE MINUTE.

These players must go in either thinking they will be top 5, or getting a sales pitch from Geno that they will get playing time.

Fans are tiring of this too. I like the UConn players. Dolson. Stewart. Tremendous players. They are fun to watch. But I've lost almost all excitement to watch UConn. They get too much TV time, and are overexposed by the time the final four comes around.

More players should think about what Elena Delle Donne did by ditching UConn and going to Delaware. People followed Delaware because of her. People followed her. She had an outstanding career. It set her up for the WNBA and national teams. She garnered interest and excitement for the game.

Lot's of elite players want to be part of the best and all aren't interested in just playing 38 minutes for a 18-14 team. Stokes was the sixth player but she was the 6th player on a 40-0 team. The UCONN gals that didn't play will get their chance next year if they practice like demons and can beat out the next round of recruits. It's how he wins and he generally picks the right gals for his "system". There is absolutely no way that any UCONN gals are guaranteed anything other than a chance to complete for minutes (and be part of a championship level team) and only the best of them will get them minutes.

It will be interesting to see if UConn recruiting falls off any in the coming years. Their conference is going to be AWFUL and I read that there were whispers of many of the power teams not wanting to schedule them nonconference. It would have to be tough to get the TV time they are used to if their entire season consisted of games against the little sisters of the poor.
