Source: K.J. Bluford is transferring

Yikes. Hope he wasn't asked to leave to make room for McKay.

Boo, no reason to even say this, especially since it seems like absolutely the right move for him. Will still have 1.5 yrs of eligibility left and very unlikely he's going to play much the rest of the year.

Besides doesn't even make sense. McKay is going to be here whether he pays his own way for a semester or not. The coaching staff wouldn't kick another player off the team to get McKay out of paying for one semester.

Everyone wondered why we were recruiting both Cunningham and Vaughn, and now we know why.

If we land both of those guys, WOW, watch out. That would be an unreal roster next year. Give me Vaughn and Cunningham, and then have the NCAA allow McKay to play the entire year. We could be looking at something VERY, VERY special right there.

We already knew why--because either would be a good catch. Hello?

I hope this provides the flexibility to go strong after Cunningham or a prep school wing like Shamiek Sheppard. For class balance, it would nice to bring in a couple of frosh who could be Cyclones for 4 years.

CFH can then use the 3rd scholarship on Vaughn or a JUCO scorer or a possible transfer.

We need to go after a 5th year senior guard like Kane and Korie with this open scholarship. We will have no senior guards on the team next year. I'm not sure Monte (who is playing great, don't get me wrong) and Custer (a freshman) can lead us through an entire season.

This. Immediate needs are at the guard position, or a 4 year big man.

At least no one has to do the always obnoxious "I think player X is going to/should transfer" game. Didn't expect him to transfer till after the season but makes sense for him as I'm guessing he really wants the PT.

Bluford got an opportunity to play for ISU but just didn't pan out. Sure Fred will help him land in a good situation where he can get the playing time he desires. Didn't necessarily show it in games here, but he can score if given the PT. Would be cool to read about him lighting it up for a mid-major the next couple of years.

Good point. After all, I'm sure that we never have more offers out than we have scholarships open. :v_SPIN:

As long as Fred is here we won't have to worry about having enough scholarships. He'll make whatever moves are needed to get the guys he wants in here.

would have loved to see what he could do, especially with Thomas not producing as much as we would like.. although watching KJ on twitter, it was clear he was not happy with his playing time...

I'll assume this is an hilarious joke.

Hopefully he can find a decent mid-major where he could become a McGee type player for them

I'll tell you what you would have seen:
1. A drop in field goal percentage.
2. A drop in assists.
3. A drop in winning percentage.

I think if he enrolls for the spring semester at another school, he would be eligible to play there beginning in the spring semester in 2015 (i.e. conference play).

Yeah sucks he will only get half a year then. But if he doesn't have a redshirt left this is his only option I guess unless he transfers down to d2. If his fg percentage got better he could have been dangerous as he can always get his shot off and doesn't hesitate.
