The scholarship is probably gone for the year. KJ will probably exit now anyway and transfer mid stream.Actually, is that correct? Or does KJ's scholarship last the whole year? I thought I heard Bubu's scholarship was already in use for the year, so this seems like a similar situation. Seems kind of dumb that McKay would still have to pay his own way if we have 2 scholarships next semester that aren't actually being used.
That would be such a cool opportunity to be able to just walk on to this team for half a yearHe had a tweet the other night after Boise St game something about how people back home know what he can do. He has since deleted it. Fred may now need a McBeth or Drew Mitchell to walk on to practice.
He made the best move he could for his future by choosing this time to leave. I don't fault him at all for doing so. In fact, I didn't realize he got into 7 of our 11 games, I guess. Hoping for the best for him. Best wishes!
We definitely have two pen scholarships. I don't know why I thought McKay would get one. That one poster saying now McKay not having to pay his way anymore got in my head before I stopped and looked at the scholarship chart.
Making room for Bubu? <jimlad>
Hate to see guys leave, but he was not going to see a lot of meaningful minutes at ISU this year or next. I thing Fred brought him in as a Tyrus type player because based on the history of the players on the team, ISU was going to need a designated shooter. Hogue and Naz have both been way better shooters this year than everyone, even Fred, expected.
Unless there's a stud transfer PG out there I doubt Fred will look for one for next season. Monte was really close to holding down the PG spot this year until Kane picked the good guys. Man man and Clayton are the future of the program at the PG spot and I think next year those two get the reigns
Stat heavily inflated by the JUCO transfers. Not saying these don't count, but the point for many of those guys going the JUCO route is to improve grades and hoop skills to transfer to a bigger program.40% of college basketball players transfer. Im all for keeping the transfer trend going.
