only frustrating part is that we could have cut him free instead of Armardi, who we could really use right now.
Intriguing thought, but hindsight is 20/20.

True, but Amardi sure looked impressive in person and we knew all along that we had much less depth at forward than we did at shooting guard.Intriguing thought, but hindsight is 20/20.

Not shocked. Everyone thought he would be playing more. At least we can now sign Vaughn and Cunningham instead f one over the other.
LOL like Fred wouldn't have found room for both of them. Fred's going to bring in the guys he wants each year and then worry about making room for them, and I love this strategy. It's what you have to do to become an elite program.
Actually I don't think he would have. That's why we haven't heard a lick on Cunningham awhile now.

He must have been decent if Fred offered him.He is horrible. He is not that great of a shooter, he just chucks them up the whole time.
Thats a result of limited minutes. When I watched Naz last year they seemed fairly similar. While I don't think he would have been successful here because we have plenty of other SGs if he gets in the right situation he will be pretty good. You have to look at it this way they are given a few minutes here and there and they want to prove they deserve more minutes. He is horrible. Actually I'm not. The Amardi/Kane situation is not the same as the Cunningham/??? situation. Amardi never played on the team. He never sat on the bench. He never contributed in practice. He never studied film. He never went to classes on the ISU campus.
did Hoiberg choose Kane over Amardi? Yes, but he did so to benefit the team while still giving Amardi a chance.
He would never have kicked Gibson or Bluford off the team for Cunningham. I'm a firm believer in that.
That's funny, because at the end of the first half of the George Mason game, Fred had him in for the final offensive possession. He clearly thinks he's a great shooter if he had him in during that situation. He is horrible. He is not that great of a shooter, he just chucks them up the whole time.

So you think it's just a coincidence that the guys at the end of the bench have decided to transfer away at the end of each season under Fred?
Unfortunate for KJ, but the fit just wasn't good. On a team that ranks at the top of the nation in assists, KJ was a black hole. He seemed to be a shoot first/pass second kind of player.
