Its ironic that when Iowa State has petitioned the NCAA, we've always been rejected. In fact most non-iconic basketball progams are rejected.

BUT - when an iconic program such as UCONN petitions the NCAA to allow a player eligibility, they get it.

At what point does everyone understand the NCAA is really about protecting its premier markets and everything else is really secondary....

What do you mean "at what point?" Aren't we already there? The "penalties" announced against Miami, earlier this week are a huge indicator that the NCAA is going the way of the dinosaur.

The NCAA is scared sh*tless right now because they know the BCS football leagues are very close to breaking from them.

Fran Fraschilla has gone off on the NCAA lately. He came to the conclusion that the NCAA uses an Ouija board to make its decisions.

Did Kerwin ever get a waiver to play this year? It was denied, but thought it was appealed.

Another reason Dickie V is good for the sport, as much as I can't stand his announcing.

this. They're basically toothless, at the moment. Zero credibility. Hoping to ride the storm out and maintain a shred of relevancy in the years to come.

I agree with Krqo;weif#%woeski on this one. There should be no exceptions; either all players sit out a year or no one does. Requiring a transfer to sit out a year is not inherently unfair; it only appears cruel when players' tragedies are weighed against each other to determine whether a waiver should be granted.

Also, all players shouldn't lose a year of eligibility whether or not they have previously red-shirted.

The "pay the athletes" doesn't change much (it's why it hasn't happened).

If the pay the athletes doesn't change much why has JP sat down with the department about the consequences of O'Bannon case outcome? Iowa State would be put at an even bigger disadvantage.

Ummm we paid for Tyrus McGee. Can't prove it but there was an article during his recruitment that his handlers were looking for $50k.

Basketball is a very shady business. We had been paying players for years. So has everyone else.

Seeing all these granted/accepted petitions/waivers, It makes me wonder if Jameel Mckay transferred to ISU if we could get a waiver allowing him to play starting this spring semester.

Unsubstantiated claims nice.
