My older brother (college OT back in the '60s, early '70s) told his son (college TE at Nebraska) "I only have one piece of advice. Don't ever divide your financial aid package by the number of hours that you are required to put in." (If you do you will likely discover that you are basically getting paid less than $2 per hour for playing college football.)

Remind me, because of timing is his scholly gone for this year or could we still add someone...and does this count against our RPI?

Disappointing. What a waste of talent!!!! I guarantee when he's stuck working a real job he'll look back and wish he would have stayed and tried to get to the NFL. Some people although being physically tough just are not mentally tough enough for the big time.

And just like that, Kyle McCann is still our last football player to play D1. Bummer he had NFL potential. Oh well I'm sure he will enjoy Creston rather than potentially making millions.

How are we supposed to win a national championship without our best redshirt freshman defensive lineman?

No insight to Blevins (although my Dad lives in Creston) but while disappointing and easy to judge these kids are doing something in terms of work that few of us can fathom, the Yancy piece while cool, shows how much effort it takes to play at this level, maybe the young man justs wants to be a college kid and get a normal job - not what we all want to hear but his potential is just that, his and he has the right to choose where he wants to exert his energy, maybe it's in the classroom and some of you will work for him someday.

The kid is mentally finished with football by his freshman year and some you still think he had a chance to play in the NFL? This isn't a video game, it takes more than physical attributes to play in the NFL.

This. NFL? Wut??? But it isn't as baffling as the Rodney Coe talk. LOL. Simply a bad idea. I'm guessing/hoping they find someone to do a good job but I doubt Coe is going to be that guy.

I believe his scholarship will be available this fall. My guess is it will go to a walk on

The question about Coe has never been about his talent. Just take a look at his offer list coming out of HS. It's the other stuff that comes with him that is the question

When I partied with him this spring he was really excited about playing next year. But, things happen, good luck to him.

Still, even if he doesn't plan on playing football, block him from transfering to Iowa.
