Heck no. I can't wait to see how the new players work together. Obviously hoping the new guards can compete right away and the learning curve is small.

Mike Maicke, Big 12 writer from Rant Sports, posted an article yesterday regarding ISU's outlook next year.

Iowa State Basketball: Melvin Ejim, Georges Niang Vital Next Season

Do people get paid to write these articles? Sign me up if they do. This guy probably doesn't even know who the 'only recruit in the ESPN Top 100' is. And how can you just completely ignore the fact that we're getting a very underrated PG who was the Mr. Basketball in Michigan. A state that has lots of talent (James Young-Kentucky) (Derrick Walton-Michigan). And a top 125 red shirt who had offers from Michigan, Indiana, and Baylor in SDW.

A very uneducated article.

I know this isn't exactly related to our players, but take a look at where the players from Indian Hills are going. This had to be the most loaded juco program in the nation. Hoiberg should highly consider hiring Baret Peery as his new assistant coach. The guy clearly knows how to bring in talented players.

Talented players who can't make the grades maybe. And players search out Indian Hills. It's like the Duke of Juco schools. Not much real recruiting needed. Simply walk in and say they are from Indian Hills and say sign here.

Interesting. Isn't it against the laws of physics to have a Cyclone get Babbed?

TheRecruitScoop.com - Shooting stars packed with talent

Interesting tidbits on Custer.

bullet.gif
With his commitment to Iowa State out of the way, Custer has been playing baseball this spring at Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest. Over the weekend, he traveled to the Dallas area with Team YOBO and helped the Kansas City-based group win a title. A 6-foot point guard and the No. 101 player in the class of 2014, Custer is a fiery competitor who makes smart plays. He has worked to improve his deep jumper, and he's added strength while improving his foot speed.

Are we looking at Babb's brother as a recruit? That family has a great gene pool.

A little bit, we've shown interest but haven't offered. I believe he is more of a fall back option right now as we are after some big fish. If we come up empty on a lot of our big time offers, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in cardinal and gold.

Came across this tid bit from Katz 3-point shot today interesting. Ejim playing for Team Canada this summer. More international competition though I am guessing now he won't play in the CCL. He'd benifit more from playing for team Canada and a seasoned coach anyways.

Iowa State’s Melvin Ejim is diversifying his international basketball career. Cyclones coach Fred Hoiberg said Ejim will play for Canada this summer after playing for Nigeria a year ago. Hoiberg said Ejim has dual citizenship from the two nations.

If we see Ejim continue to grow as a player like he did this past off season, he will be a major force in the B12. He'll probably never get the credit he deserves from the media, but I'll take his stats any day. He's more or less grown into a player that consistently throws up double doubles in league play.

If his outside shot and handle develop some, along with his defensive consistency, there won't be many players in the league that are better.

At the tailgate tour Fred said, "Ejim will play the 3 on the wing now, and Niang will play the 4 his more natural position.

Hmm I wonder if that means he expects Amardi to come in and start right away or if Percy will start...

You have to think Percy will have to take more of a leadership role as an upperclassman. We need some edge out of him. If he can contribute 6-8ppg and 5 rpg in ~15-20 minutes, I'd be happy.
