I was in Galena Illinois last summer and went into a hot and spicy snack store. They had a bowl of spicy spanish peanuts and I decided to sample a few. They were so hot they brought a tear to my eye, without thinking I wiped my eye with my finger. Unfortunately I did not wipe the hot **** off my finger and got it in my eye, then the tears really started to flow.

My GF poured a 20 oz. bottle of cold water over my eye which made it feel a little better, it took a couple of days before my eye felt better.

I think I have been to this exact place a year or two ago. My story is similar. I took a pretzel and dipped it in horseradish sauce.

Well when I turned the jar to see what it was called "Excruciatingly Hot Horseradish." I can't even explain how hot it was. My sinuses felt like there was fire flowing through them.

Buddy at work is Korean, he gets some crazy stuff. Most of it is pretty good (I love me some moon pies) but there is the brown/orange chewy dry cake be brings in about once or twice a year. I hate to tell him no thank you, but I can't choke these things down. It leaves a taste in my mouth that hard liquor can't remove from my taste-buds or my memory.

Moon pies aren't Korean. Wtf? Southerners have been eating moon pies and drinking RC Cola for a long long time.

Kimchi is disgusting (and I love cabbage and coleslaw and sauerkraut). I'm not sure what the hype is about that stuff.

Some bibimbap can be damn tasty, though.

Back to the question... Preground black pepper is disgusting (restaurant black pepper may be the worst)... Might as well sprinkle sawdust on your food. Must be like 10% black pepper, gypsum to keep it separated, and other organic filler. Horrible stuff.

Find yourself some black tellicherry peppercorns and see what you've been missing... They have the same pepper taste, but without as much typical black peppercorn heat... I have a hard time finding tellicherry peppercorns now that I'm back in MN, (at least at a respectable price), so I've been using the regular ones, but keep overseasoning with them as i'm used to the tellicherries...

Have you checked out Penzey's?

my mom makes a similar glazed carrot side dish with brown sugar and butter. They are delicious!

almost anything tastes good cooked in butter and sugar/honey/syrup/brown sugar. If it has to be cooked in fat and sugar to taste like anything, then me says its not worth eating to begin with. And if I am going to eat starch(which carrots are), and add butter and sugar, I would just as soon have the same nutritional value and eat a cookie

Fear Factor after Prom party for me. I was sure wishing the wheel would land on the 5pt Skittles. Screw the 25 point pickled pigs feet. Nasty.

What is the worst tasting thing you've ever had?

For me it was some type of cheese that I had at a buffet in Vegas. I don't know what kind it was, but it was like tasting toenail fungus + the gunk from honeybooboo's mom's neck + baby spit-up.
It looked a little like pepperjack (with little red flecks) so I took a bite and even after I nearly threw up spitting it out, I could not get rid of the taste. It was in my nose and everything I ate afterward for like 20 minutes still tasted like it. If anyone knows what kind of cheese that is, let me know so I can leave them all companies who make it nasty yelp reviews, haha.

Haggis and pickled pig's feet weren't great either.

Do you mean the first time you taste it??

can be anything, anytime :) Like say you have something you like, but then you decided to grow a baby and something you used to like now tastes like feet.

Now you're just making **** up..

Kimchi can be great! It depends on spicy levels and texture. I haven't gotten to have bibimbap though. I have had a really awesome meet dish with sweet sauce over it. Can't remember the name though.

While that does happen. I was thinking that the baby growing causes you to throw up previously loved food.
