You guys are going to prison rape our football team. We have no chance at all.

Is that the only type of discussion you guys are ok with here?

Our team is a much better one this year.
No but the overconfidence with nothing to hang your hat over the last two seasons against ISU is a little over the top.

We don't have an issue with the discussion about the game.

What we don't get is how you have all unanimously come to that bolded conclusion after watching games against Northwestern State, Texas State, and New Mexico.

If Tech won 70-0 against Lubbock High, would you be celebrating your newly improved defense and high-powered offense? I didn't think so. So excuse us if we don't bow down to your untested and overrated team. You are coming into our stadium, in a game that we believe we should win, and meanwhile, we're receiving no respect from the media and are pretty much a unanimous pick to finish 9th in the Big 12 - behind a team that we did just "prison rape" on the road one season ago and finish ahead of in the standings. Sorry if we're a little testy.

How is the ISU defensive line looking? Sacks, TFL's, run stuffing?

I would say our defensive line is still our team's weakest link. They are however vastly improved from last year, although that doesn't take much. NT Jake McDonough has been the biggest surprise for me this year, he has really stepped up and made some huge plays for us this year. We still haven't shown much in the sack column but it is nice to actually see our guys put pressure on the quarterback. Which didn't happen much last year.

The biggest upside our D-line is our depth. We rotate 12 guys in and out in all games, not just at the end of games against cupcakes. You can take that one of two ways, one being all of our d-line is sub average since none stand out, but as an Iowa State fan we take it as a huge advantage that since they all can play, our d-line still has a lot of energy left in the the 4th quarter.

Maybe you missed the part earlier where I said our WRs are VASTLY improved. The depth among this position is incredible. We have a guy named Jakeem Grant who is a game changer and he's not starting. I'm telling you... don't expect this to go like last year's game. I'm not saying we will win, but 7 points is not happening.

So what you are saying is you have a bunch of FCS level game changers at WR? Impressive. Now let's wait and see how they do against the big boys in the Big XII.

This is the whole point...you really have no way of knowing whether TT's WRs are vastly improved relative to Big 12 play, because they haven't played against any Big-12 level competition.

And you guys have played....? Iowa? The team that was an even match for a MAC team and UNI? News flash... they're not a good team either. Don't act like your competition has been leaps and bounds better though.

I don't think any Techsans are coming here claiming we are going to definitely win, but we are a better team... that's what happens when you aren't decimated by injuries like we were when we played last season.

we finally got a rational one guys!
really we just get tired of the sunshine pumping based upon 3 gigantic creampuffs, you may be better, but i doubt you will end the season top 10 in offense or top 60 in defense, you lost your best LB and have an entirely new defensive system, that takes time to install. you may be deep at wr but you don't have 9 all big 12 guys like alot of the TTU fans here are intimating, stephens may be good but he is coming off of a catastrophic knee injury and was killing creampuffs last year, not putting up gaudy stats versus the meat of the big 12.

And you can't even point to dominating FCS/bottom barrel FBS teams as signs of being a great team anymore because of what Oklahoma State did. The only team they've played that's shown they have a pulse is Texas State, but I think Houston might actually just be that awful.

ours was on the road in a historically hard place to play versus a rival, and the first time they had been held without a touchdown at home since 1978. Iowa is 100x better than any team you've played, as is tulsa whom we manhandled after a rough first quarter and beat by 2+ touchdowns, could have been more but we kneed it deep inside tulsa territory at the end of the game.

Iowa game is always goofy and you can't take away much about the team from those games any year. I would say Tulsa is head and shoulders above anyone Tech has played though, and they have looked pretty good in their subsequent games.

You might have a point if I was the one claiming that some area of ISU's team was vastly improved based on ISU's first three games. But since I haven't made that claim, your reply is nothing but a strawman.

If y'all are surprised that Tech fans are extremely confident/optimistic about their team this year, you weren't paying attention at all this offseason. They've been convinced they are a top 4 or 5 team in the conference for months. Their beatdowns of a few Drake-quality teams just adds to it.

Can't wait for the 29th.

I am serious... Iowa will be at the bottom of their conference this year. They are that bad. And when you're at the bottom of the B1G, you're BAAAAD.

You can't seriously be comparing the quality of our non-conference opponents. I'm shocked you didn't manage to get Savannah State on your schedule. But you got damn close

Sorry but throughout this thread I have been trying to get a handle on who this Texas State is. Are they new to football? New to FBS? Who are they, without researching it?

Tulsa (outside of the ISU game) has played as impressively as Texas Tech against crap teams, where is all the hype on them?
