What is your favorite movie that it feels like nobody but you has ever seen?

One of my favorites is Choke - it's based on a book by Chuck Palahniuk, the same guy who wrote Fight Club. It stars Sam Rockwell (who I think has genius comedic timing) and Angelica Huston.

Bottle Rocket - not sure why other Wes Anderson movies got so much press, his first film is so much better than any of the rest, should have got lots of Oscar nominations in art direction, music and visual categories

Photographing Fairies - literally nobody because it's only been released on laserdisc and vhs, similar to Pan's Labyrinth in feel, Ben Kingsley

The Last Supper - political satire, well known cast but not well known movie

I really like all his movies, just annoys me that people will list off every film he's ever done...and almost always leave out the best one.

Mr. Fox seems different than all the others at first but really it just enabled some of his eccentricities to reach their natural place. The shot of Anthony and Dignan taking a moment to organize the family chess board as they practice rob his parents house is pretty much the whole film in Mr. Fox.

The Wrong Guy with Dave Foley and Jennifer Tilly was a solid low budget comedy.

Extract also keeps with the under the radar slow burn thing Mike Judge has going for him.

Extract was hilarious!!!

Ok, I'll add a couple:

A Serious Man- I'm an enormous Coen Brothers fan, and it seems like no one I talk with has seen this one.

Happy Endings- With Lisa Kudrow and Maggie Gyllenhall. not my favorite movie but in the vein of real good movies nodody saw, this one fits.

True Romance- With Christian Slater and an entire plethora of fantastic actors. This may not fit the profile as "unknown", but a remarkable amount of people seem to have never seen it when it comes up in conversation.

Classic "good girl/bad boy" type of movie...you know, "Had I, a classically trained dancer, not been exposed to street dancing culture, I'd have no idea about the bigger things in life."

We love Mr. Fox, probably just because it's so random. Also, our daughter loves it. It's always seemed odd to me that it was George Clooney's first Wes Anderson movie.

Serpico.

Ok, I'm sure a lot of people have seen it, but it's my favorite Pacino movie, made in '73 and based on a true story.

Sea of Love is another more obscure Pacino flick that I watch whenever it's on.

Love Mr. Fox. Love all of Wes Anderson's movies, but after watching all of them multiple times, I always come back to the Life Aquatic. Bill Murray's character just has so much going on. Half the time, the scene is made just by the expression on his face. The whole segment where Angelica Houston breaks the news that his cat is dead, just floors me every time. He channels about six different emotions in the span of about 30 seconds. It's an amazing piece of film.

Idiocracy

Funny movie about where the world would be if only the stupid people procreate. Or as I like to call them "Hawk Fans"

Great movie for stupid laughs. If you like movies along the Dumb and Dumber, Office Space, and Harold & Kumar wavelength - this would be a good movie to watch.

Narrator: As the 21st century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest, reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits. Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. A dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.

Narrator: The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections.
