Lets dial back the number of teams to watch. The big teams to cheer against are Memphis, San Diego St, New Mexico, Alabama, and Cincinnati. The Mountain West games tonight are HUGE. Root for UNLV and Colorado St! I'm about 80% sure we've got a 7-seed as of right now, but if these games play out in our favor I would bump that up to 95%

Depends how much stock you put in ESPN's bracketology, they have us as an 8 seed vs Purdue as of this morning. Win and we advance to play Syracuse.

This is a good thread.

I think we have a good case for a 7 seed, but I could see us getting an 8 or a 9 as well. Our conference performance is more of a 7. Our overall performance is more of an 8. It's more for pride anyway. Plenty of 10 seeds win every year and beating a 2 or a 1 will be difficult.

People haven't mentioned this yet but Texas is now a top 50 RPI team...that gives us 5 wins over top 50 teams.

Most teams don't have 3...We will need more teams to lose tonight to get a 7 seed but it's looking 50-50 right now.

As far as getting out of the dreaded 8/9 seeding I'd say ISU has a better shot of dropping to a 10 seed than rising to a 7 seed. A 7 seed just isn't going to happen so I'd be wishing for a 10 seed if I were you. ISU could do a LOT of damage as a 10 seed.

Yeah, I can't imagine that we would drop to a 10. I think right now we are one of the better 8's and I still believe we have a shot at a 7.

I never said that, so my record of having never been wrong is intact.

Heh, just giving you crap. I agree it's very unlikely they drop to a 10 seed just saying that would be a good scenario for them. Although at least as an 8 or 9 seed if you win your first round matchup you get a chance to make a huge name for yourself by knocking out a 1 seed early.

most of the mock brackets have us as an 8 seed at this time.

Where do these mock brackets have UF?

If they are any more than 1 to 2 spots away they should lose their mock bracket picking privileges.

I really think we are on the 6 line, and can fall to a 7, as low as 8... guess I am optimistic though.
