This story is sad in so many aspects.

The part that took me from sad to WTF -

Her tank top shows off two black tattoos on her arms. One, which winds down her forearm, reads “Tish,” her mom’s nickname. Another, below her shoulder, reads “Manica Magee,” which is the teen’s rap name.

She kept her grades up. So she earned those tatts. Come on. I guess an "A" isn't worth $5 anymore.

BTW, my parents never paid for my grades. It was more along the lines of "If you get good grades you can participate in sports. If not, you'll be sitting home with us on Friday nights when everybody else is at the game."

Good enough for me.

the article said that the 29 year old (now a grandma) lived with her grandma when she had kids at 13. that means that her mom was most likey a teen when she had her. that would make her a great-grandma around 46. I'm 26 and my great grandma was 70 when I was born.

Maybe not something everyone would do by choice, but I have respect for those who end up having a kid very young and follow through as a mature adult should at only 15 or so.

There was a girl a year younger than me in our school area who was known for her easy lifestyle. At 13 she found she was pregnant and never looked back. I remeber talking with individuals who dated her after the fact and said that her maturity was far better than some 30 year old adults out there.

This can go either way. Some people turn around and do amazing things that no one would have expected. But, some live on welfare and just continue the cycle. There are good apples and bad apples in every bunch.

Its weird. I think we will see this more and more as this world moves forward. There was actually a time where this wasnt uncommon. Way back in history. No matter how far we progress with technology and the world around us and evolve as a race, we just cannot shake our deep down animal instincts. We forage, we kill, we dominate, and we lust. As long as she raises her child to be a good human being and teaches her right from wrong, I will not think less of her. I just dont want these people on welfare and draining the social stockpile.

Absolutely true, and that is the sad thing about this all.

I will be the first to admit that I had a child at a yound age, 20 in fact, and at first I was the one who was worried sick on how the heck I'm going to get through it. What has helped is taking things one day at a time. It's the people who give up, abandon their own children, and expect sympathy and a free ride when they end up giving birth. I have gotten help from parents and grandparents just as much as the next guy, but I have also taken my personal responsibility to try and provide the best life for my child.

That is wonderful! Not to be too deep, but those people who are invested in their children should be commended as, hopefully, it will be those children who will make this world a better place than it is now.

I don't have a "mom", so good parents really touch my heart. :wubclub:

I had my son when I was 22, my wife was 25. Honestly, it's hard, but I really like knowing that as my son is growing up I'll be young enough to really enjoy and be a part of all the things he's doing. However, if he knocks up some girl when he's 13 then we're going to have problems.

Wow, I've heard of the imaculate conception, but an imaculate birth? Impressive.

33 for #1, 35 for #2, 35 + 1 week for vasectomy:smile:

Yikes. I am done with having kids. I am happy at two boys. Not sure if I could do the whole vasectomy thing. It just seems so final. Would I have liked to have a girl, sure. But I would be happy adopting a child who may otherwise not get a home.

I had the V for 2 reasons: 1. I didn't want to have more kids (got a boy and girl) 2. My wife's health would be an issue if she got pregnant again. Plus, I don't have to worry about getting my girlfriend pregnant:wink:

Yes, yours wifes health is number one. You are a good man. Just take pride in the fact you are so potent =) As for the girlfriend, lol, you definitely wouldnt want that problem.

My wife asks me if I have a girlfriend on the side. I always respond, "why would I want two problems" =)

I was the last chance for the Bostinelos family to continue. My dad had three girls and me. And my grandpa had 3 boys and 2 girls. One of the boys died, my uncle will never have kids, and my dad only has me to keep it going. So me having two boys was stellar. Now its their responsibility to continue our name. I keep telling my wife that they are not going to get married and have multitudes of women to play. She gets mad =)

As you can see, I toy with my wife alot.
