Bird Migration and Misc Birding Thread

I’ve seen killdeer do that several times and a few times hen turkeys do a similar monouver.

Odd day in my yard. I was going to replace a derelict 14-year-old Bluebird box on my acre and a third when, as I grabbed the post to remove the screws, out flew a female Bluebird. The box contained a completed nest. Surprise!

From our devastating mid-March ice storm, we still have a five-foot-tall pile of branches. After the city picked up most of the early cleanup, we obtained a burn permit and I was preparing to ignite the pile when out popped a Brown Thrasher from a nest inside. Surprise #2.

After reading a post about Killdeers feigning injury to lure intruders away from their nests, I witnessed a Mourning Dove drop like a rock from a major crotch seven feet up in a Willow tree. As it neared the ground, it opened its wings and began acting strangely—flipping and flopping one wing conspicuously, then fluttering the other, as if drunk or injured. I thought it might be poisoned or hit by a car. But each time I approached, it responded the same way, clearly capable of flight. Eventually it flew across the street. Looking back at where it had dropped from in the tree, I spotted two plump squabs perched in the crotch. #3

Without JJ and Tamin will milan be as productive at KY

I love MIlan and wish he was back, but JJ and Tamin set him up quite often as other teams had to respect those two. Plus they had played with Milan for 2 years so they knew where he would be on the floor. Will he mesh with the new team.

I hope he does well except if we have to play them. But i think his numbers will be down

Any thoughts anyone
Chances are that Kentucky will have players good enough for other teams to respect so they can't double team Milan. Whether they will be as good at passing to him when the defense collapses on them is another story. I think a bigger concern for him is a tall, athletic defender who can bother his shot. Those are the types of players with whom he had the most difficulty.

I've posted this before but if he can gain weight/strength to post up consistently, that one-legged fade shot is impossible to guard and would increase his chances of getting to the NBA immensely.

DAILY CLONE: Who gets the blame for Brendan Sorsby's clearance? (June 8, 2026)

**** it, every Big 12 team just declare that you aren't playing Tech this year. They go "13-0" by playing 3 games in Aug/Sept. See how that goes over with the playoff committee. See if they still have a team left after 12 weeks of practice without playing a game. I would give up a win this season to make that statement. Especially this season when we aren't expected to do much anyway.

It's a game. The results are not important. The value of sport is what it teaches about life. This is an ENORMOUS teaching/learning opportunity.

Texas Tech 10 Million Dollar Portal Season

Yeah, my assumption is this will all but guarantee a super league consisting of only the Big Ten and the SEC if this drags on much longer without a decisive move by the Big 12. I could see them trying it for football and men's/women's basketball. They won't need the NCAA, except for the Olympic sports.

Which just means they were going to do it anyway. Best it be asap. The ruling on Sorsby doesn’t change the hurdles they’ll face in that, just the optics to their acolytes

He hasn’t even played. All we know is what we knew before , the ncaa is feckless. is

Separating because a school used courts for advantage, a tactic common in P2, and got a favorable ruling…yeah, a ruse

MORE CLUES ADDED - CONTEST TWO: Solve this puzzle to win a free Fanatic book by Chris Williams

Sadly all of these new guesses are a no. Would be interested in knowing the thought process of some of these
Is anyone even close?
Self admission, I'm often not the smartest person in a room.
I'm interested in seeing the answer and your reasoning on how you think the clues could lead to the solution. Because the clues currently look completely arbitrary.
Where's Mr. Holmes when you need him!

When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

Other than being a passenger in Tesla's and a few Waymo rides, I have no experience with electric vehicles, and given that my Jeep will be paid off with next months payment, I'm not really looking for a new vehicle right now. BUT, I really like the R2
R2 wise you are looking probably well over a year out if you got in line right now anyway.
