MORE CLUES ADDED - CONTEST TWO: Solve this puzzle to win a free Fanatic book by Chris Williams

We can tell you some once we solve it. Maybe one more yes no question each? Or reveal someone's yes/no if you think it would help?

Sadly all of these new guesses are a no. Would be interested in knowing the thought process of some of these
As I continue to see all of these guesses, I've become more and more curious as to where they are coming from. Especially because I have no idea what is going on here so I've just been standing on the sideline applying my chapstick... :prohm:

Is anyone even close?
Self admission, I'm often not the smartest person in a room.
I'm interested in seeing the answer and your reasoning on how you think the clues could lead to the solution. Because the clues currently look completely arbitrary.
Where's Mr. Holmes when you need him!

I figured something isu sports related. I read that puzzle several times and don't have a clue what's going on. All those times watching Indiana Jones as a kid has had no real benefit.

Since I now know it's not ISU related

The year after the crash, Paul came to explain.
- Paul Rhodes came in 2009 (The year after 0-8 conference season from Chizik)
Aloysius tried too, but ignore the law of Latium.
- Vague reference to some ISU buildings I found

From William's forest came intricate plates.
- Chris Williams book (plates) or Clyde Williams Field
The smell of lavender preceeded the prize.
- Kansas State?

Now mull over the Colonel's past.
- Colonel Harold “Pop” Pride was instrumental in the planning, fundraising, and building of the Iowa State University Memorial Union
For that is where it comes from.

This all lead me to part one being related to the Memorial Union and/or a campus building for some reason. Similarly it lead me to think it was Jack Trice related or possibly Football standing related.
