***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

This was the first week it hasn't rained since April 1, 25" total in 11 weeks. Corn is OK but yellow short areas in every field and too wet to get in to side dress. Bean stands are fine except on terraces but they are short in height. Hay making is challenging but good production on grass hay not so much with alfalfa...too wet. Pasture growth is phenominal. With current grain prices, it will be a stretch to break even. Such is farming. We are SW of Creston, 15 miles from the Mo. line.

Not for me, but I'd love to know what they are. Do you have the Merlin ID app to try to identify them by sound??

We had a male and female show up at our feeders yesterday of which we have never seen before. They are a medium gray on the entire body with a small black stripe trim on the end of the wings. The head, chest and belly is a lighter gray. Somewhat smaller than a red wing black bird. Aggressive feeders that stay on the feeders even when we are within 20'. Long split black tail feather. Enough info to identify?
Catbird?

NET(S) GAIN: Joshua Jefferson's brimming with gratitude as he embarks on NBA career

Congrats to JJ, his work ethic and attitude has served him well. I'm not an NBA junkie by any means but my view is that the players his size are very athletic and skilled so he will have his work cut out for him. Niang has accumulated an NBA career that no one envisioned, playing above the rim is not his forte. JJ is far more athletic but has the same passing skills and if he can refine his 3 pt shot, Niang is the exmple that it can be done.

***Official 2026 World Cup Thread***

Argentina flat out has the easiest route to the semis.
Of course, they appear to be the best team too.
I see back to back Championships.
I’d say France has looked the best. Both have looked good, but Argentina played against weaker competition.

Now in regards to who will win it all. France does have a much tougher path to the final than Argentina.
