Found cannon in Lake Laverne

Unfortunately so. The police department had been trying to make us stop using it for years now and wanted us to take out a huge insurance policy on it, which we could not afford. The athletics department wanted to take over the operation of it, and we told them no since it was our thing. On top of that, around the same time all of these negotiations were going on, a now former member, who was a student at the time and not on cannon crew for this game, got a hold of a field pass after a game and used it to get into football operations areas and was caught. That pretty much ended the athletic department's trust in the undergrads operating it.

I had the chance to talk to Jamie Pollard two years ago about it and proposed allowing fraternity alumni to operate it during games. He told me that he liked the idea but it was not his call on it. That was before I found out about the whole insurance policy thing.

The cannon still exists, I actually helped pick it up from a University PD storage facility last week and it's now stored at another alum's farm. I even got to fire it off again, which is always really fun!
So instead of the AD using it, you would prefer for random alums to have it at their place and not be seen/used...?..?..?

Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

This column perfectly describes the avoidable obstacles facing college sports. The dip$hit Michigan President would rather maintain his existing competitive advantage rather than support PCSA which would have increased the odds of retaining May and at least double their existing revenues while maintaining a significant competitive financial advantage. The boys from Fox and Petitti has got this dimwit and other B10 Presidents completely brainwashed:

Nothing we didn’t know about the current landscape…

…But you have a young rising star, fresh off a natty at a wealthy school with a rich basketball history…and he’s disillusioned.

Cant believe im saying this now but the US could win this tournament. Not likely but not impossible. Its true that our defense on the back end is borderline atrocious but we can strike with the best of them. Its cool to see Americans soccer players who can dribble and arent dependent on counterattacking.
France looks insane, and maybe Argentina. Everyone else is beatable.

More like their tendons haven't caught up to their muscles.

I also do not remember Achilles injuries being a thing 10+ years ago in college or pro athletes.
Yeah…it’s more the tendons/ligaments. It’s like when someone starts lifting consistently. If you try to add weight too soon, your muscles can handle it, but the connecting tissue can be a problem. That’s where most injuries occur. Loading before your tendons/ligaments are ready.

So he's limited to 4 seasons regardless of how he structures it?

I'm still getting a feel for the 5-rule, is it supposed to be limited to 5 consecutive seasons?
Yes new rules are 5 years no matter what. No redshirts of any kind. Class of 27 has to be 5 for 5 no matter what. Class of 25 and before are all under old rules. Class of ‘26 has a choice of old rules or new. Since he’ll miss this season he’ll opt into old rules now just for more flexibility

We live in a split foyer house, and with the AC on the temperature differential between upstairs and downstairs seems enormous, especially when it gets ridiculously hot outside like now.

You either sit downstairs with a blanket wrapped around you or you sit upstairs where it's a little warm. I have a large fan at the bottom of the steps blowing the cold air upstairs, but wish there was more I could do to even out the temperature.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

We have a large 2 story - our smart thermostat came with an extra sensor that we place upstairs, so it reads the temp both downstairs at the wall unit & upstairs at that sensor. Upstairs (particularly above the garage) still gets a little warm in the summer/cool in the winter, but it's definitely bearable.
