***Official 2026 World Cup Thread***

By continental association:

CAF: 9 out of 10 advance
CONMEBOL: 5 out of 6 advance
UEFA: 13 out of 16 advance
CONCACAF: 3 out of 6 advance (all hosts)
AFC: 2 out of 9 advance (ouch)
OFC: 0 out of 1 advance (but respectable showing)

AFC got abused in the group stage, with 7 out of 9 teams not advancing. CAF, CONMEBOL, and UEFA combined had only 5 teams not make it out of the group stage.

Argentina flat out has the easiest route to the semis.
Of course, they appear to be the best team too.
I see back to back Championships.

I’d say France has looked the best. Both have looked good, but Argentina played against weaker competition.

Now in regards to who will win it all. France does have a much tougher path to the final than Argentina.

I know I’m in the minority, but would love to see Morocco or Netherlands absolutely batter Canada and that weird little weasel Jesse Marsch
I do find it interesting how they are now being called "Canadian Heroes" for finishing 2nd in an average Group and then beat a 60th ranked South African team in which it took till the 92nd minute to score a goal.

He loves to try and manufacture a sound bite or viral clip of himself on the sideline, so no surprise haha

To be fair it’s the first time they’ve ever made this far into the World Cup, so I get it.
