Window replacement questions: residential

Hello

Looking for real life experience feedback (not a link) from anyone who has installed or replaced windows with 'noise-reducing' windows

~ Dissimilar ? (two difference pane thicknesses)
~ Offset ?
~ triple-pane vs double pane ?
~Vinyl, Fiberglass, or wood w/ aluminum clad ?

This application is for western exposure (fiberglass frames may become brittle over time) and moderate traffic noise

any opinions are welcome.. thank you in advance!

Friday OT #2 - Hey, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

Do you have any side/recreational activities or talents you really enjoy doing, to the point where maybe you could have made a career out of it in different circumstances?

For example, I really, really love travel planning, and do a pretty intricate job of it. I've had several friends just tell me to plan their vacation for them, and let me go. I also really enjoy interior design, but can see that it might be difficult to make really personal decisions for someone else.

What are yours?

Solid new TV series' to watch...

There are so many new shows it's hard to keep up. If we try a show and we're not invested in the first 2-3 episodes we're done and we move on. Give me your highly recommended shows you've been watching the past year or two.

Mine:

Somebody Somewhere (HBO Max) - this show is simply fantastic. Real people. Real problems. HILARIOUS humor.

The Tourist (HBO Max)

Tokyo Vice (HBO Max) - I hate Ansel Elgort but love me some Michael Mann. This is also based on a true story. Good ****.

Severance (HBO) - Mentioned in another thread.

Slow Horses (Apple TV) - Spy/Thriller/Comedy. Incredible cast. Loving this.

Abbott Elementary (NBC) - Snuck up on us. This show is HILARIOUS. Same vein as Parks and Rec and The Office. We laugh out loud OFTEN at this and we haven't been fans of network sitcoms in quite awhile.

Yellowjackets (Showtime) - Came out last fall. Fantastic.

Euphoria (HBO) - Speaks for itself. It's not for everyone. But it's brilliant. And terrifying.

Recruits & Transfers

Starting a new thread for recruiting. There are not many top 2023 recruits remaining especially at weights of need which are 197, 133, & 141 (if swiderski bumps up). I would like to get Hagerty (197) or another top 50 197-pounder, Lemley/Wells or Porter (133/141), Adams (141/149) and definitely take Ruiz (157) if we are still in the mix for him. Not sure the mutual interest level on these guys but these would be my focus.

Not many elite transfers but here are a few we should be contacting. This is my order of interest.
1. Henson 133/141
2. Kennedy Monday 174
3. Matt Finesliver 174
4. Dom Demas 149
5. Stevo Poulin 125
6. Yaraslau Slavekowski 285

Not sure how many would be a significant improvement over what we have. Did I miss any?

Troy Davis ranked #41 on best NCAA back of last 60 years

Troy Davis ranked ahead of Adrian Peterson on this list. Seems about right!

Imagine how difficult it must have been to be the only big-time player on a team that would win just five games in two seasons. Opponents had to prepare to stop you and only you. Now imagine rushing for more than 2,000 yards and finishing in the Heisman top five twice on those teams. That's what Troy Davis did. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...football-100-best-running-backs-last-60-years

2023 recruiting class rivals lexi and emily class?

with the addition of crooks to go along with addy brown jaylen bristow kelsey joens and arriana jackson . this could rival the class of lexi emily and aubrey.

what is scarey is that lexi emily and aubrey will be seniors when this class comes to town plus we still have nye and zinnaro

that is a whole lot of talent . probably the most that i have seen on one iowa state womens team since the freese welle and taylor teams

what are other peoples opinion.

Football (And Random Things): Episode 109

Talked about the offense on this one. We'll have a defense episode coming next Tuesday then an overarching discussion about Iowa State football going into the 2022 season with Jay Jordan next Thursday.

West Virginia goin be a tough out.

Daniels entered 2021 as a favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and a top-ranked NFL draft prospect. When he has been healthy he has been unstoppable.

If Daniels wins the job, he'll play behind an offensive line that features all five starters returning.
