Iowa State will host one of its priority transfer targets next week.

Ohio transfer Ben Vander Plas is expected to visit Ames next Wednesday, sources tell Cyclone Fanatic publisher Chris Williams.

Earlier today, Iowa State made the cut for Vander Plas’ narrowed list of college options along with Illinois, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, which was first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Ripon, Wis. averaged 14.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this past season for the Bobcats while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from 3-point range and 72.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The 2021-22 first-team All-MAC selection played in 122 games across his four seasons at Ohio and made 93 starts, averaging 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in his career.

Iowa State is set to host VCU transfer forward Hason Ward and already committed Temple transfer Jeremiah Williams for visits this weekend.

The Cyclones currently have four open scholarships for the 2022-23 season.
