Despite official sources generally keeping the Queen's health out of the spotlight in respect of her privacy they have announced that she is "under medical supervision." With all of the royal family flocking to her side this might be the end of a reign that has lasted longer than the vast majority of posters on this site have been alive.
I'm looking into opening accounts for my children that would be used for future educational expenses 13-15 years from now. I'm leaning towards opening a Roth IRA for them given if the money isn't used for education then they already have a retirement account that's been working for them. A 529 does have the benefit where the withdrawals don't count as income compared to the Roth.
What some of you done and what has been your experience with either?

We have some friends that are going to drive in NEXT Saturday (SEPT 17th) morning for the Ohio game and stay with us that night in the RV village. I have looked at all the free parking maps and have some of my own known spots they could park, but wanted to see if anyone else has some good ideas for spots they could park and walk/uber over to the RV village to stay with us?

Welcome back to "On That Note," CF’s weekly exploration of music, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and me, cyclones500.
This week’s segment has a indirect but thematic tie-in with Emmy Awards (airs Sept. 12). Songs that reference at least one of the following (in title or lyrics):
1. The word television/TV (also accept “tube” in context).
2. TV show by title, or character name in a program/series. Actor’s name alone does NOT count.
3. Brand of television or TV network/company.
4. Contextual allusion to television experience (random examples: channel, antenna, remote control).
NOT ALLOWED: TV show theme songs; TV ad jingles; group names.
Gray area: In some cases, a song might bend a rule, yet be acceptable in spirit of the theme, or lyric not stated directly but is evident in context of TV. Use your best judgment — if you think it’s a gray area, add a note with your clip to “justify.”
Appropriate launch point: In addition to the song title, TV series mentioned include “That’s Incredible!” … “Dallas” … “Saturday Night Live” … “Dynasty” … “Quincy” … “Hill Street Blues” ... (using the EP version, not LP version, because I feel like it ... all right!!).
I’m sitting here watching the A-Team on MeTV. This episode has Hulk Hogan, the principal from The Breakfast Club, William the Refrigerator Perry, and some other pseudo famous actors I can’t name but recognize. Is the A-Team the greatest action comedy ensemble show ever created? Probably.
In Cartevious Norton’s first game as a Cyclone on Saturday, the true freshman flashed his talent in limited touches all over the field. He was the talk of the game, if you ignore the starting quarterback throwing for four touchdowns in his first start for the program. Unfortunately for Iowa...
Had one of those WTF moments this weekend when a commercial came on the TV. Was laughing pretty hard after backed up and played it again as I dunno how the person was able to keep a straight face when recording this. Any other strange products or ways of advertising something others have had a WTF moment? You have to check out the other commercials on their channel for this product if you want a good laugh!
The Athletic had an interesting article in which they went back all 24 years for the BCS and CFP era and predicted the 12 teams that would have made the playoffs based on the new rules and the final BCS/CFP rankings.
Not going to paste a link since I know it is a pay site and many others hate it, but wanted to share some tidbits from the article.
They totaled up the conference selections (conference affiliation at the time of selection). Not surprisingly, the SEC was the wide leader. The interesting aspect was the B1G and Big 12 were very close in total selections, and far outpaced the Pac12 and ACC. Of course, losing OU and UT will hurt us, but not more than Pac12 losing USC and UCLA.
Final tidbits: ISU was in one time, Iowa 4 times. SEC had one year that 5 of 12 would have been SEC schools. 2 years with 4 selections. B1G had two years of 4 selections, Big 12 one.
Only eleven P5 schools would not have ever been selected in the last 24 years and the Big 12 had none of them. The B1G had four of the eleven (Minny, NW, Purdue, and Rutgers). Further evidence the B1G West is a lame division with 3 teams.
I was tired of staring at Jack Trice in black and white, so I tried to do something about it.
I used the Minnesota photo that I found in 2018, which is absolutely awful quality, but maybe the most meaningful. Other pictures would be much easier to colorize. Maybe I'll do those another time ... hmm?
Blake Purchase is announcing his decision today. I haven't heard much about him recently other than ND coming in late to the party to try and play spoiler. Hopefully since Myles Purchase plays at ISU that gives us the leg up, but he seems like Oregon's to lose. What does everyone else here think? This would be a massive pickup if we somehow pulled this off.
Hosting at my house a small group of people for the Iowa game. One thing I hate about about hosting is food prep/cooking while not missing any of the game. My goal would be everything is ready and warm for people to eat whenever. I will admit I am a terrible host.
What are some low maintenance food options (entree and sides) while hosting? Any good crockpot meals?
I’m looking to purchase 4 hillside tickets to Ohio on 9/17. Hillside isn’t an option to buy online when I am looking. Does anyone know how to purchase single game hillside tickets?
