Combining production in Waterloo

I was thinking back recently about Bo Williams (RIP) that had big time hype and had a long run against A&M. He fizzled out quickly.

Who are some Cyclone FB players that you thought were going to be stars but didn't pan out for whatever reason (injuries, grades, bad teams, etc.)

A few that came to mind:
Sedrick Johnson: big time recruit that never panned out and transferred.
Sam Richardson (QB): had a breakout game against KU, but struggled due to O-line.
Jason Scales: highly touted coming out of high school, but struggled with injuries
Jason Berryman (RIP): couldn't stay out of trouble.

Any others that I'm missing or before my time? (I was at ISU from 04-08)

I thought this deserves its own thread. Schedule below. Lineups haven’t been released yet, but that won’t stop me from speculating. What are some of the matchups you’re interested in? Below are a few of my likely highlights.

125 - this will be our first time seeing Steve-O and also see where Blue Chip recruit Castillo is at.

133 - we’ll see how Frost looks early season close to weight. Also, assuming Meza is here this will not be a gimme for him. Grice as well has shown a lot of potential.

Where will Paniro be wrestling off? He’ll make things interesting at whatever weight he goes. 49 against Frost or 57 against Zerban. This will probably be the best matchup.

Apparently with full support of Neil's family. No word on who drummer will be. Not sure how I feel about this. To me, it's really not Rush without any of them.

It can be a blessing or a curse. Some bands seem to evolve and change over time keeping the die hard fans and bringing in new ones. Others get panned or called sellouts because their music becomes too mainstream. Other bands don't ever seem to change their sound and sometimes loose their hardcore fans because their music becomes boring. It seems like a delicate ballance and sometimes it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. However, some of the greatest bands of all time have managed to pull this off for decades. What are some of your favorite bands that did, or didn't mange to effectively evolve? Did you ever discover a band that had been around for a long time but never really cought your attention, but now you love? In your opinion(fan or not) what band has done the best job of staying relivant for the longest time? Which band do you feel has managed to stay relivent but sold out and lost their origional sound?

I was looking at B10 standings so far through 5-6 games, and I see a 50/50 scenario shaping up where the B10 only gets two teams in.

I’m assuming Ohio State and Oregon are locks and PSU eliminated itself with the UCLA.

Indiana looks like the third obvious team. They travel to Oregon this week, which I assume is a loss. They could run the table from there, but that trip to Happy Valley is a major stumbling block. Honestly, that’s a win and they’re in, lose and they’re out game imo.

The other possible At-larges will probably eliminate themselves the rest of the year.

USC still hosts Michigan this week, is at Nebraska, at Notre Dame, and at Oregon the rest of the way. At least 2 more losses there.

Michigan plays USC in a must win for them this week, but also host Washington and Ohio State last game of the year. If they knock off USC this week they can afford a Wash or OSU loss, but not both.

Illinois hosts OSU this week, which is a loss. Their schedule is easy the rest of the way, but I think they probably lose another along the way (@washington, host Rutgers and Maryland, at Wisconsin are all land mines).

Washington still is at Michigan, hosts Illinois and Oregon. 2 more losses there.

Nebraska has a very easy schedule, but really hast to run the table. And they host USC and are at PSU. Have to win both.

I don’t consider Maryland a contender. And they still have games against Nebraska, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan left. They have to run the table.

All that said : USC through Maryland will all probably eliminate each other throughout the rest of the year. That Indiana vs PSU matchup will probably be make or break for B10 to get more than 2 teams.

I have a series of the team schedule posters in great shape for free to anyone that wants them. They are the 09-10, 10-11, 11-12, 12-13 and 13-14 seasons. Would like to see someone take all of them if possible. If you want them all I'd ask is for you to pay postage and I'll send them in a poster tube. Otherwise, I could meet someone at the next home football game with them.

I can sign in okay on the "Forums" section. It displays everything correctly including my dark mode setting. But when I go to other sections on the site like "Home" or "News", it shows me signed out and dark mode is off. Clicking on a CF news article link in "Forums" will also go to a page where dark mode is off and I'm not signed in. If I try to sign in while on those sections (News or Home), I get a message that my username or password is incorrect even though it's not. "Forums" is the only section that allows me to sign in and will display dark mode correctly.
