RECRUITING: Cyclones earn commitment from OL Pete Eglitis

Iowa State earned its 13th commitment to the 2026 recruiting class over the first official visit weekend in Pete Eglitis, an offensive lineman out of Columbus.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect earned first-team all-state honors at Bishop Watterson High School a season ago, collecting an amount of offers during his recruitment.

Eglitis chooses the Cyclones over offers from Pittsburgh, Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Missouri, Marshall, James Madison, Old Dominion, Toledo, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Kent State, Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Liberty and Western Michigan.

What it means: This is the third offensive lineman to commit for the 2026 class and the first out of the Campbell staff’s Ohio ‘wheelhouse.’

He’s flown slightly under the radar as far as rankings go, coming in at No. 151 for offensive tackles on 247 Sports, but that offer sheet can speak for itself.

He brings a lot of size to the table and gives Iowa State a more rounded group at the position as it continues to fill out its class with another round of visits set for next weekend.
